It appears Jensen has seen the writing on the wall: He is not going to be Governor. As the 2022 nominee for Governor, Jensen has lost touch with the grassroots and has lost a large amount of his support. As seen in previous A4L reporting, Jensen was a distant 4th place finish in the caucus straw poll and embarrassingly received just under 6.5%. Jensen also received ONLY eight votes (2.4%) in the December MNGOP State Central straw poll. Now that it is clear the GOP base doesn’t want his weak-willed leadership, he has given himself a demotion and is running for State Auditor.
The State Auditor race is the most winnable statewide race for Republicans due to the national exposure of fraud, amounting to billions of tax dollars being wasted. Incumbent Democrat Auditor, Julie “White Claw” Blaha, failed to act upon massive fraud and has played cover for the entire operation. She is not seeking reelection after winning by just 0.34% (8,435 votes) in 2022.
Scott Jensen lost to Tim Walz in 2022 by over 7.5% and by most accounts, Klobuchar will be a more formidable opponent. When the spotlight was on Jensen, he did not meet the moment and lost to an incompetent, lying, far-left, career politician fraudster. Jensen failed to deliver memorable, hard-hitting attacks in his debates with Walz and caved to the left at every turn.
Jensen was having a tough time selling Republicans on giving him another chance to lead the ticket, especially with some of his leftist views. As seen in previous A4L reporting, Jensen berated GOP State Senator Glenn Gruenhagen (SD17) for being “part of the problem” by bringing up “social issues” like opposing late term abortions and child transgender mutilation. Despite previously being all over the map, Jensen has argued that abortion, up to the moment of birth, is a Constitutional Right in Minnesota. Jensen previously interned for Planned Parenthood and voted for taxpayer funded abortion while in the State Senate. He also previously caved to Moms Demand Action and pushed gun control legislation.
A video was posted on social media by Scott Jensen announcing that he is ending his campaign and running for State Auditor. See below:
Today I’m announcing that I am withdrawing from the Governor’s race, instead I am running to be the next State Auditor of Minnesota. We need to declare war on waste, fraud, and abuse. It’s time to protect your paycheck. Let’s go Minnesota. Let’s get back to work! pic.twitter.com/sj2VKwe0sX

In the above video, Jensen fails to mention his running mate even a single time. Perhaps it is because even he couldn’t learn how to pronounce her name, which is Phouthaivanh Wilkerson. As seen in previous A4L reporting, Wilkerson is a Dakota County police officer who was a complete political unknown. It is odd that Jensen would not even mention her in his video since he hoped to make her the second most powerful person in the state!
Jensen entering the race for Auditor shakes up what was expected to be a one-on-one battle for the MNGOP endorsement between Braham Mayor Nate George and anti-Trump/anti-Charlie Kirk 27 year old Elliott Engen. As seen in previous A4L reporting, Jensen had over $224K cash-on-hand in his Governor campaign account as of Dec. 31st, 2025, giving him a major fundraising advantage over his opponents. In comparison, Engen has over $7,500 cash-on-hand and George has over $2,500.
It was clear that Jensen had no intention of abiding by the MNGOP endorsement while in the Governor’s race and it’s unlikely anything is different for the Auditor race. Sources tell A4L that Elliott Engen has refused to answer if he will abide by the endorsement while Nate George has unequivocally publicly pledged to abide. Nate George also appears to be the only candidate with relevant professional experience who has directly worked with the Auditor’s office.
Despite being entirely reliant on support from the medical freedom community, Jensen has REFUSED to sign A4L’s Never Again Pledge. The Auditor position includes a seat on the Executive Council which votes on Governor Executive Orders and other critical issues. Nate George has signed the Never Again Pledge to prevent unilateral Emergency Powers while Elliott Engen has refused to sign. Engen also voted on the House floor to kill the Never Again Bill.
Jensen’s Plan B campaign will be met with skepticism since he played cover for Somalis after massive Somali fraud received national exposure. In his previous campaign, Jensen sucked up to a voting group that will never vote Republican by helping “usher in the Somali-American Republican Party of Minnesota outreach office”. Jensen even made a video in 2022 celebrating Somali Independence Day! Jensen is not serious about stopping fraud and cleaning up our government, he is too scared to offend the left!
Jensen will likely struggle to win America First delegates since did not endorse President Trump in 2024 and even helped promote Trump’s Libertarian opponent in 2020, as will Elliott Engen with his anti-Trump past, which even included backstabbing Turning Point USA and calling them “extremism from the right” that was controlled by the “cult of Trump”. Jensen will NOT come off as an America First, Liberty Constitutionalist with the Ukraine-style campaign color scheme seen on his website! As seen in A4L Scorecards, Jensen and Engen have voted for all kinds of fraud-ridden, unconstitutional omnibus bills, Engen even voted for a bill that funneled tax dollars to Muslim Somali terrorist group Al-Shabaab but now wants to clean up the mess he and other Uniparty politicians caused?!?!
Tensions were beginning to rise between Engen and George without Jensen even entering the fray, though Engen has already attacked Jensen as a "perennial loser". Engen argues George is boring while George argues that Engen is immature and making sensational promises that cannot even be done through the Auditor’s office. See below:

As mentioned, the State Auditor race is the most winnable statewide office for Republicans with the fraud scandal being on every voters’ mind. The GOP nominee will take on Forward-Independence Party nominee Jay Reeves and one of the four Democrats seeking their party’s endorsement: former Duluth city councilman Zack Filipovich, Tonka Bay mayor Adam Jennings, former Fergus Falls mayor Ben Schierer, and vodka-chugging DWI Dan Wolgamott.
Action 4 Liberty will continue bringing Patriots hard-hitting, anti-establishment, liberty-based reporting that cannot be found anywhere else. A4L remains the voice of grassroots conservatives because we never cave on principles. A4L will continue fighting for our mission to protect liberty for the next generation.
