The crowded GOP field in the MN Governor race shows that there is a wide variety of Republicans (or at least candidates that claim to be Republicans) that see Tim Walz as a weak opponent who can be beaten. With Walz losing support each day due to the massive fraud he oversaw, the GOP has an opportunity to flip the seat and prevent Walz from getting an unprecedented third term. However, the GOP can only win if they can motivate the over 1.5M MN Trump voters to vote in the 2026 midterms.
One candidate who has begun making a name for himself in the campaign is attorney Chris Madel. As seen in previous A4L reporting, Madel is a big time Democrat donor who has given massive amounts of money to Joe Biden, Tim Walz, Amy Klobuchar, Angie Craig, John Kerry, and other leftists (as seen in FEC and CFB donor searches). Since our reporting preceded Madel’s campaign announcement, Madel felt the need to address the donations during his campaign launch.
As seen in previous A4L reporting, Madel admitted during his campaign launch that he donated to Democrats to free his legal clients (sounds like a pay to play scheme). Our system of justice should have court cases decided based on their merit, NOT if some Democrat politician pulls the prosecutor or judge’s strings as a favor to a lawyer who donated to them.
Madel has now gone a step further by trying to explain away his Democrat donations by arguing it was to help his legal cases in deep-blue Hennepin and Ramsey counties and even tried to compare himself to President Trump. The issue with that: Madel donated to Joe Biden in 2020 and 2024 (2024 money transferred to Kamala/Walz campaign) and also funded Amy Klobuchar’s presidential campaigns! How would donating to Joe Biden help Madel win legal cases? This is not a Trump supporter playing the system, this is a Democrat donor playing Trump supporters! See video below:
Like President Trump, before I ran for office I gave money to both Democrats and Republicans. I operate in an area controlled by Democrats and the donations helped advance my clients’ interests. I have zero apologies for doing what it takes to help my clients.

According to Democrat donor Chris Madel, if you attack him for his tens of thousands he’s donated to Democrats, you are either a keyboard warrior who should move out of their mom’s basement or you are a “winner in name only”. As a Democrat donor, it makes sense that Madel cannot understand why principled conservatives would be skeptical of someone who bankrolled the opposition. Madel does not understand how a conservative thinks because he is not one. Anyone that doesn’t see red flags in a Tim Walz donor ($5,500 in total) as the GOP opponent to Walz is out of their mind. Additionally, Madel's excuse of proximity falls flat when realizing he's donated to national Dems like Joe Biden and Maryland Congressman TDS-lunatic/Jan. 6 Committee member Jamie Raskin in 2023. What excuse could he possibly have for THAT donation?!?
Madel argues that his legal wins prove his leadership abilities, but if he only won those cases thanks to donating to Democrats, is that really something to brag about? He highlights his support of MPPOA, a pro-gun control group that honors drunk driving Democrats and swing district leftist legislators. The MPPOA recently lost (effective Dec. 31st, 2025) the support/backing of the Law Enforcement Labor Services (LELS), the MN State Patrol Troopers Association (MSPTA), and the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Agents Association (BCAAA) which means the MPPOA’s biggest contractors are no longer satisfied with their lobbying. The MPPOA has failed to represent rank-and-file police officers and became a part of the St. Paul swamp that conservatives despise.
Madel’s giant ego has convinced him that he is the only candidate who is capable of winning despite never winning any political position before. While Madel attempts to appear tough, he just comes across angry and talking down to America First voters. Madel’s frustrations with grassroots conservatives could instead be redirected to the corrupt Establishment that has destroyed our state.
As seen in previous A4L reporting, Chris Madel (and Scott Jensen) did correctly call out the Republican-controlled House Fraud Committee for their ineffectiveness in taking on the Walz fraud regime. Madel has also quickly gathered support for his campaign and likely finds himself in the middle of the pack as far as support goes. Madel’s legal career and connection to Alpha News appeals to certain voters and it does not appear he plans to abide by the party endorsement.
Action 4 Liberty will continue to stand firm on conservative principles and lead the liberty loving grassroots movement in MN. A4L continues to gain ground with support growing. We will continue to keep Patriots up to date with the latest in the MN Governor race and will not waiver in our mission to protect liberty for the next generation.
