The St. Paul Swamp is in session and Republicans are already caving to radical left Democrats! While the obstructionist Dems withheld their votes for a fraud prevention bill, RINOs are bending over backwards to advance the Dems’ pro-illegal alien, anti-ICE agenda!
The House floor session on Wednesday, Feb. 25th, featured two votes where legislators sought to move legislation from one committee to another. One bill was pushed by the GOP and another bill pushed by Dems. This began with Rep. Jim Nash seeking to re-refer a bill (SF856) from one committee to another that creates an Inspector General.
The bill could be stronger to combat fraud but more government oversight is necessary. The main reason the House GOP is pushing this bill is because it has already passed with bipartisan support in the Senate and only requires House approval before it can be signed or vetoed by Tim Walz. Democrats refused to vote to advance the bill because they are playing games to gut the bill and give all of the appointment power to Tim Walz.
After all Democrats voting against the Inspector General bill advancing, they hypocritically offered their own bill and asked it be advanced by moving it from the Judiciary Committee to the State Government Committee.
The Democrats offered HF3477 which allows new lawsuits for alleged civil rights violations and supposed racism. The bill permits lawsuits that can come from anyone in the country, even illegal aliens. The legislation would even turn Minnesota into a total sanctuary state by requiring all state and local law enforcement to not cooperate with ICE if ICE does not comply with their judicial nonsense! See the bill below:

This bill has obvious Constitutional violations that should not jump to the State Govt. Committee until the legal issues are resolved in the Judiciary Committee! Minnesota’s judicial system should not become the hub for illegal aliens and radical leftists to file frivolous lawsuits that undermine the deportation operation that President Trump was elected to complete.
While lunatic leftists like Brad Tabke pontificated from their phony moral high horse on the topic of ICE and immigration, GOP Rep. & House Judiciary Committee co-chair Peggy Scott initially argued Republicans should vote no on advancing the bill to another committee but she ultimately caved. Then, Establishment tool Walter Hudson began speaking and set off the Uniparty domino effect by telling Democrat Leader Jamie Long “you got my vote” to advance the bill to the State Govt Committee because there was no harm in having another discussion. Of course, there is serious harm in liberalizing our already broken judicial system.
RINO Jim Nash then stood up to say that he will also vote to advance the bill so that Democrats can enjoy their stench of hypocrisy. NEWS FLASH: Democrats do not care about being hypocritical and manipulative. Jim Nash didn’t play the Democrats, the Democrats played Jim Nash.
The majority of RINO Representatives caved and advanced the bill, falling for Democrat tricks yet again with only 18 having the guts to vote no. See vote below:

As seen above, 43 GOP Reps voted with the radical left and six Republicans were present but chose not to vote on the motion at all which includes Ben Davis (6A), Elliott Engen (36A), Danny Nadeau (34A), Duane Quam (24A), Drew Roach (58B), and Mike Weiner (5B). Since none of these legislators should have any kind of personal conflict of interest with the legislation, they could have easily voted no to prevent the Democrats from advancing their leftist agenda. By not voting, these legislators ensured Democrats had a majority of legislators voting. Of course, these GOP legislators would likely argue that they did not have enough information to vote on the bill since the vote was unplanned and sprung upon them. With Engen seeking statewide office (State Auditor) and is seeking the MNGOP endorsement, he is proving that he will sit idly by as Democrats pull hypocritical stunts.
The GOP got played by Democrats yet again even with Republicans controlling the gavel. Demuth and GOP leadership gets fooled while Democrats continue to get everything they want. To make matters worse for Republicans, Democrat Cedrick Frazier was absent so if the GOP stood strong and voted no, the bill would not have advanced!
If the GOP wanted to be serious with negotiations with the bad faith Democrats, they could've argued that they will not advance any Democrat bill until they advance the Inspector General bill. Or, even better yet, the GOP will not advance any Democrat bill until the entire surplus is returned to Minnesota taxpayers!
The Establishment can stop wondering why grassroots conservatives are fed up with RINO politicians because the reason why was on full display in the House floor session. Democrats obstruct GOP bills while the GOP advances the Democrat bills. Conservatives know that they’ve been getting the short end of the stick for a long time and know Action 4 Liberty will continue to be their premier resource. A4L will continue exposing MN corruption and will never waiver in our mission to protect liberty for the next generation.
