Minnesota Senate Democrats passed the most radical gun control in the history of our state by weaponizing tragedies against law-abiding gun owners. This bill bans semi-automatic firearms, bans large capacity firearms, bans 3D-printed firearms, outlaws almost all handguns, and more!

On Monday, May 4th, the State Senate voted on SF4067 and it resulted in a party line vote of 34-33. See vote below:

SF4067 is a 48 page omnibus bill that combines all kinds of unconstitutional, bogus gun control with several school safety provisions. Not only does this bill violate the U.S. Constitution’s 2nd Amendment but this bill also violates the single subject clause of the Minnesota Constitution.

What was EXTREMELY obvious from the Senate floor debate was that the bill’s author, Zaynab Mohamed, knows NOTHING about guns! She couldn’t answer basic questions about her bill and would just repeat far-left talking points. As seen in the following exchange with Sen. Keri Heintzeman on the Senate floor, Mohamed is clueless! How would Mohamed know Heintzeman's handguns don't have a "protruding grip" when that could be descriptive of almost all handguns?! Heintzeman also got gun-grabber Ron Latz to admit the bill's language would outlaw almost all handguns! Latz argued that he would help fix it in a future committee but also argued the Senate should pass it anyway! The full Senate floor debate can be seen here.

As a Somali migrant seeking to undermine American freedom, Mohamed is showing her true colors. This in mind, it is also the swing-district Democrats that are showing that they are JUST AS RADICAL as Mohamed! They all proved that they want to turn law-abiding gun owners into criminals and do not care how it will impact their constituents. Swing district Dems like Grant Hauschild (SD3), Rob Kupec (SD4), Aric Putnam (SD14), and Judy Seeberger (SD41) vote like they’re Ilhan Omar when they pretend to be blue-dog moderates. 

One other provision in the bill, thanks to leftist lunatic Steve Cwodzinski (SD49), will make schools LESS safe and MORE prone to school shootings! Rural schools that could face long wait times for police arrival are able to grant certain individuals the ability to carry a firearm in cases of emergency. Cwodzinski and Democrats want to make rural schools wait and be “gun-free” zones that maniac shooters have been prone to take advantage of.

This bill will now go to the Republican-controlled House and no Republicans have shown interest in passing the legislation. If the bill does pass, it will be a failure of Lisa Demuth to effectively lead the caucus and unify the caucus against gun control.

Action 4 Liberty will always be opposed to gun control and any erosion of our Constitutional liberties. Radical Democrats want to disarm We The People and A4L will always stand in the way of that mission.
