If grassroots conservatives know one thing in Minnesota, it’s that Keith Ellison is the LAST person who should be trusted with tax dollars to fight fraud. Minnesota’s fraud scandal is a national embarrassment totaling billions upon billions in wasted tax dollars and the leaked audio between Ellison and Feeding our Future fraudsters speaks for itself.

Fraud surrounding daycares, autism centers, transportation companies, and medicaid has shown the incompetence or outright corruption of our elected officials. Rather than making Ellison and his office be held accountable for failing to eliminate fraud, House Republicans on the Judiciary Committee UNANIMOUSLY joined Democrats to advance a bill (HF2354) that gives Ellison’s office over $1.2M so he can supposedly fight fraud! Grassroots conservatives wouldn’t give Ellison another penny! Ellison has proven himself to be aligned with fraudsters, not taxpayers! Ellison was already appropriated a bloated budget last year (that was an increase from his previous budget) that he is wasting away on frivolous lawsuits against the Trump Administration.

Another day of the MN legislature means MN taxpayers are getting screwed over by the Uniparty. Swing district Democrat Matt Norris (32B) is desperate to win reelection in 2026 and has spent this session pretending to care about fraud. When Norris isn’t trying to weaken the already weak Inspector General Bill, he is carrying bills to fool his constituents into believing that he is fighting against wasteful government. Norris narrowly won his district in 2024, winning by just over 400 votes. See below:

Norris testified in the Judiciary Committee alongside Keith Ellison and AG employee Nick Wanka. Most grassroots conservatives would relish in the opportunity to grill Ellison on fraud while he grovels for more money but the GOP was as pathetic as ever! Reps Bidal Duran (2A), Elliott Engen (36A), Walter Hudson (30A), Peggy Scott (31A), and Terry Stier (22B) all failed to meet the moment and were as polite as possible by while Ellison skirted around the few questions provided. Even worse, GOP Reps Matt Bliss (2B) and Scott Van Binsbergen (16A) didn’t say anything at all to Ellison during the committee meeting! With Engen running for State Auditor, his dull and uninspiring committee performance against Keith Ellison leaves Republican voters wondering if he has the knowledge and toughness necessary to root out Minnesota's mass fraud scheme.

The GOP questioned whether the AG’s office was the proper authority and questioned some of the processes the office follows on fraud investigations. While Rep. Stier argued that state and local law enforcement was better equipped to handle some of this fraud, he and all GOP members of the Judiciary Committee voted alongside radical leftist Democrats to advance the over $1.2M for Ellison’s office. Amazingly, it was NEVER asked in the Committee how much the AG’s office would be likely to recover from fraud prosecutions with the $1.2M appropriation. If the AG’s office would recover less than $1.2M then MN would have wasted more money in the false pursuit of saving tax dollars!

To make matters worse, Ellison was touting that funding this program leads to 3-1 federal government matching funds (state funds 25% and federal government funds 75%). In essence, this means that support for this funding bill will lead to more national spending/an increased national debt. This bill is not fiscally conservative at all!

In the Senate, swing district Democrat Judy Seeberger (SD41) is one of the bill authors (as is failed Minneapolis Mayor candidate Omar Fateh). The GOP is giving swing district Democrats Matt Norris and Judy Seeberger something to campaign on by supporting their bill. They should keep in mind that any bill that has "Leigh" Finke, Keith Ellison, Brion Curran, Sandra Feist, Omar Fateh, and other radical leftists' support will NOT actually fight MN fraud. Finke even gave Ellison a BIG hug before the committee meeting started! See below:

While the St. Paul Swamp continues to look at the government as the answer for every problem, grassroots conservatives know that the government itself is the problem. This bill has almost exclusively radical left Democrat co-authors with only RINOs Steve Gander (1B), Joe Schomacker (21A), and Jim Abeler (SD35) signed on.

Keith Ellison is the least trustworthy person in MN to fight fraud! This legislation (HF2354) was advanced to the House Public Safety Committee and will continue through this process until it receives a floor vote. With 67 GOP House Reps and control over the gavel, the House GOP could block this legislation. After doing so, the GOP could fight to eliminate all programs with known fraud and appropriate money to a government agency that is far more trustworthy in fighting fraud than Keith Ellison’s office. Additionally, if Republicans want to win a true House majority in 2026, the last thing they'd want to do is prop up disingenuous, swing district Democrats.
