Sen. Wesenberg Introduces Bill to Commission Charlie Kirk Statue for U of M Campus

“When people stop talking, that’s when you get violence. That’s when civil war happens, because you start to think the other side is so evil and they lose their humanity.” - Charlie Kirk

The assassination of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University has sent shock waves throughout our country as a deadly reminder of the danger in being an outspoken conservative. The left was unable to defeat Kirk and his ideas through debate so they took his life. The evil we are witnessing must not be compromised with, conservatives must hold their ground now more than ever. This is a "turning point" that our nation will never forget.

While some on the left have shown class by condemning political violence, the loudest liberal voices are celebrating Kirk’s murder. The mainstream liberal media attacked Kirk as a racist and couldn’t hide their hatred of him even for a second. In Minnesota, the Star Tribune’s Deena Winter wasted no time to hurl insults at Kirk following his assassination. What the tragic events have shown is that an evil, demonic spirit has captured the minds of leftists who justify or celebrate Kirk’s assassination.

Minnesota has faced recent tragedies like the transgender maniac who killed two children at the Catholic school and the crazed lunatic that assassinated former state House Speaker Melissa Hortman, her husband, and their dog and attempted to assassinate Senator John Hoffman and his wife. Though Hortman was a political opponent to the right, there was nobody who celebrated her death. While the right asked many questions about the Hortman assassin, some over-assumptively or with incorrect information, it was in the spirit of getting to the truth of the matter and there was nobody rationalizing the shooter's evil actions like we currently see many on the left do in the case of Charlie Kirk. When the shoe is on the other foot, conservative showed class. We see too often that the left celebrates the murder of an outspoken conservative simply for debating his values.

Tragedy should bring unity, not division. The loss of Charlie Kirk requires the message be sent to college campuses that free speech and open dialogue must be protected and that violence is not the answer. Senator Nathan Wesenberg announced Saturday, Sept. 13th that he is doing just that.

Sen. Wesenberg released a press release stating that he will introduce legislation to dedicate funds from Minnesota’s Legacy Amendment to commission a statue of Charlie Kirk at the University of Minnesota to commemorate Kirk and his legacy of fighting for free speech on college campuses. If called to a special session, Wesenberg will push this legislation to be passed immediately. In the press release, Sen. Wesenberg states Rep. Ben Davis will carry the legislation in the House. See full press release below:

As seen above, the funding for this project will come from Minnesota's Legacy Amendment which has funded all kinds of Somali services, lgbtq+, and even openly demonic events. With this in mind and the understanding that this money will be spent no matter what, this money is better served to honor a free speech warrior than the wasteful and evil spending that this fund has been used for.

All state legislators must stand up to this unjust assassination by passing Wesenberg’s legislation at their next convening. Sign the A4L petition to demand your state legislators sign on, click link in image below:
