A pervasive lie has been told over and over again by Minnesota’s RINO Establishment claiming that taxpayer dollars MUST fund Planned Parenthood and abortion. This blatant lie has provided cover for RINO legislators who vote for this spending against the interests of their constituents.

This falsehood now holds no credibility as the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that states can reject spending Medicaid dollars going to Planned Parenthood!

The ruling was 6-3 with Justices John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barret voting in favor and Justices Ketanji Brown Jackson, Elena Kagan, and Sonia Sotomayor in opposition. Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote the majority opinion of the court, Justice Clarence Thomas wrote a concurring opinion in support of the majority ruling, and Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wrote the dissenting minority opinion.

In the last regular legislative session for the state of Minnesota, 29 state House RINOs voted for taxpayer funding of abortion and Planned Parenthood in the Health omnibus bill (HF2435). No GOP Senator voted for the bill. Between the lines of all the regulations, policy, and billions in spending within the 263 page bill is abortion funding under the guise of “medical assistance”. Planned Parenthood is also funded in the bill through sexual and reproductive grants, family planning awards, and the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). See House vote below:

MNGOP Chair Alex Plechash attempted to cover for RINOs who voted for abortion/Planned Parenthood funding by claiming that taxpayer funded abortion is “not because of any vote by Republicans”. Many other RINO politicians have also pushed the issue away by saying they have no choice but to include the funding or they just flat out deny that abortion is funded through the legislature. Even the fake pro-life group, MCCL, has pushed these lies and fought against Senator Nathan Wesenberg (SD10) legislatively defining life at conception! Senator Wesenberg also disproved the lie that legislators couldn't fight the funding by pushing an amendment that would defund abortion and Planned Parenthood.

Also bear in mind, MN has some of the most extreme laws in the country on abortion, including post-birth abortion!

The Supreme Court decision confirmed what Constitutional conservatives already knew, legislators are not obligated to spend taxpayer dollars funding abortions. Action 4 Liberty celebrates the massive victory for life in the U.S. Supreme Court and calls on the GOP state House and Senate caucuses to remove all abortion and Planned Parenthood funding during the next legislative session. We The People will not accept any more excuses, the GOP must step up or voters will see them for the spineless sellouts that they truly are.
