The double-standards and hypocrisy of RINOs is always exposed when they lose. The RINOs know they are losing their grip over the party with grassroots conservatives outnumbering them. The Establishment has long been able to control the narrative and swat down the grassroots at political conventions but that time has come to an end. Delegates proved at the MNGOP state convention that they are in the driver’s seat now and RINOs like Dave Osmek are throwing a tantrum and quitting the party because of it.
As heard on WCCO radio, former MN Senate President and RINO legislator Dave Osmek, announced he is quitting the party because he didn’t get his way at the convention. Grassroots conservatives have endured convention after convention of things not going their way but they stayed the course and continued fighting. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, crybaby Dave Osmek is losing his mind.
Osmek is desperate for attention and relevancy as he realizes he is out-of-touch with the GOP base. Osmek admits that he was fighting a losing battle and insulted delegates who voted differently than him, calling them “flat-earthers” and wearing “tin foil hats”. Osmek says it is not just him who thinks the grassroots is dumb, it's most of the state legislature! He is admitting that the RINOs in St. Paul are not actually aligned with the grassroots!
As seen in previous A4L reporting, our grassroots supporters proved that they are more powerful than all of the RINO legislators at the state convention combined! The grassroots held the line and refused to be swayed by Demuth apologists in the Governor race. This fact TRIGGERS Dave Osmek because he blames Action 4 Liberty and another group, Rocks and Cows, for the grassroots takeover!
Osmek goes even further by claiming that A4L is corrupt because we demand candidates sign the Never Again Pledge, proving they will never allow tyrannical lockdowns imposed unilaterally again in Minnesota, and we inform voters of who refuses to sign! According to RINOs like Dave Osmek, transparency for conservative causes is now “corruption”. There is a reason he and other RINOs are losing support while we gain support: We tell the truth and the Establishment has to distort, misrepresent, or lie about us to save face.
Many political observers see Osmek’s tirade as another example of sour grapes, especially considering he was once an advisor for Kendall Qualls and was considered to be Qualls’ running mate. As Osmek did ahead of the convention, he issued attacks against Quall’s Lt. Gov nominee, Brian Nicholson, over a civil lawsuit concerning certain business practices. Like anyone else in this country, Nicholson is afforded the right to be innocent until proven guilty, despite Osmek’s attacks. Interestingly, it did not appear that this line of attack was used against Nicholson at the state convention, perhaps due to fears that Nicholson would sue for slander or something of the kind.
Speaking of false statements made by Osmek, he falsely claimed on the radio show that the MNGOP said voting clickers were “hacked” at the convention. No such thing was ever said by the party while technological errors occurred. A4L has previously reported on the issues with the voting clickers, though they did not impact the ultimate result of the grassroots coallessing behind Kendall Qualls in the Governor race.
Before defending the crooked HCMC bailout by Demuth and RINOs, Osmek made sure to attack MNGOP endorsed U.S. Senate candidate Adam Schwarze and prop up pro-abortion, anti-MAGA Michele Tafoya. Osmek attacked Schwarze for not condemning the Derek Chauvin moment of silence that garnered national media attention. While the action was stupid and unnecessary, Schwarze says he was not in the room when it happened. For what it is worth, this article’s author was also not in the convention hall when this took place. Someone who was in the room was Dave Osmek, who did nothing to stop it when it happened but is happy to complain about it after the fact and attack Schwarze for it, who had nothing to do with it.
The endorsement process is under threat because the Establishment cannot believe that grassroots conservatives have taken over. Dave Osmek calls for the endorsement process to be eliminated in Minnesota, which would strip power from grassroots conservatives like you. Osmek has made it very easy for Republicans to say "good riddance" to his exit!
The Establishment is livid that A4L supporters are awake, active, knowledgeable, and principled. Our organization is grassroots driven because we know we would be nothing without you. We will never waiver in our mission to protect liberty for the next generation and we will continue to provide Patriots with liberty-based reporting that cannot be found anywhere else.
