MNGOP Left High And Dry by Ousted Chair David Hann

We’ve received reports that the MNGOP is nearly broke - AGAIN. There appears to be a discrepancy regarding how much money remains in the MNGOP financial reserves.

The former MNGOP Chair David Hann stated in his final farewell email dated Dec 30, 2024 (subject line “Sincerely, Thank You”) and read “Our biggest accomplishment, though, will be that for the first time in well over a decade, the Republican Party of Minnesota will begin the new year in a cash-positive position. As I leave office on December 31st, the Party will enter 2025 without debt.”

While it appears that Hann’s email statement is technically correct, there is a “cash-positive” balance in the MNGOP account, the amount of money remaining is reported to be pitiful.

Apparently the Party’s bank balance has been depleted to the point that the new administration has been left with only a week or two of operating funds. A normal transition between administrations would be smooth and would leave an enduring institution in a position of strength rather than one of struggle - but apparently that’s too much for David Hann. It seems that on his way out the door he’s done everything he could to hamstring the new administration.

It was in meetings just a few months ago that David Hann was touting how the Party had hundreds of thousands of dollars in the bank. But in his final days as Chair, he has spent the Party’s funds down to practically nothing.

Conservatives and liberty lovers have wanted to see a well-positioned MNGOP that is ready to fight for liberty, ready to fight shoulder-to-shoulder with WE THE PEOPLE. Instead, the incoming party officers are being left high and dry by David Hann.

    It doesn’t surprise me!

The so-called “leader” of the MNGOP supported the illegal removal of 30 plus 2022 OTC caucus delegates so they couldn’t attend the 2023 convention where they subsequently passed changes to the county constitution making their schemes legal after the fact. It should be noted, however, that nothing that happened at that convention was legitimate. The old guard leadership of OTC was completely compromised.
Their many atrocities are beyond the scope of my response and too numerous to mention here, but will mention another, of which Hann fully supported—

Four hundred sixty-eight delegates were elected at the 2024 OTC caucuses. The documents provided by leadership weren’t even the legitimate documents required by law, and because they didn’t like the results, they decided the caucuses were a sham, and used the excuse that they were chaotic and that results were indeterminate based on the paperwork. (So much more to mention but will spare the details for now) I beg to differ with that decision, and believe that if the documents had been legitimately reviewed by CD7 executives, the will of the people could have been determined. Some of them are on Fischbach’s payroll too though, so no surprise there either.

The grassroots movement clearly outnumbered the elitist self-serving Rinos, and they make it sound like chaos ensued. The only disruptors at the Perham location were the appointed convener and a few of his cohorts. While Tammy Barry tried tirelessly to move the caucus forward, the appointed convener who had been voted out, 183 to 39, kept interrupting with phone calls to Anna Matthews, Hann’s right hand (wo)man, Executive Director, who did his bidding. (I won’t speak of the Fergus Falls location, as I wasn’t there. )
NOTE: Anna Matthews has since resigned following Hann’s removal.

It isn’t surprising that one who would throw his/her support behind the disenfranchisement of the whole county delegation, and all the other unethical, unthinkable malfeasance they are guilty of, or complicit in, would also NOT have any scruples when it comes to dealing with the People’s hundreds of thousands of dollars!

I sure hope current chair, Alex Plechash, actually does his homework, and conducts himself worthy of Almighty God, and His will for We the People of the Republican Party of Minnesota.
