The special session has officially been set for Monday, June 9th and the terms of which were agreed to by Walz and the party leaders of the House and Senate. The agreement attempts to force 14 bills through the legislature during a single day of session with no amendments allowed from the body. The bills will spend billions upon billions of tax dollars and contribute to the 2nd largest budget in MN history when passed or the groundwork will be set for a state government shutdown. Many of these bills will be massive unconstitutional omnibus bills with all kinds of woke, big government spending and policies tucked deep inside of them.
In the agreement, 14 bills are listed out and certain terms of process are laid out for the special session. Included in this is all party leaders pledging to block all amendments on the floor unless they all agree to it. They want to block the ability of a legislator to legislate! They do not want legislators to represent their constituents or their concerns on the floor. They do not want legislators to be able to influence legislation. They simply want legislators to act as a human conveyor belt.
GOP legislators should feel insulted that their party leaders have such little faith in their ability to legislate, the Uniparty wants all the big decisions made in closed-door conversations with party bosses. Republican party leaders have implemented the exact opposite negotiation style of ‘The Art of the Deal’. If you want to know who and what the Uniparty is in Minnesota, look no further than this agreement and the signers of it, then see who votes for it all. See deal below:
There is mention in the agreement for the suspension of the rules and a declaration of urgency be established under Article IV, Section 19 of the MN Constitution to prevent the bills from going through the standard legislative process requiring bills to be heard three times before being voted on for final passage. The mentioned House and Senate rules also pertain to this issue. With Demuth and Johnson signing, they are saying that they have the GOP votes (23 in the House and 11 in the Senate) necessary to help Democrats suspend the rules by meeting the two-thirds requirement on the vote.
According to sources at the Capitol, there was no majority that explicitly agreed in the GOP House or Senate caucuses to the terms of this agreement. RINO party leaders Speaker Lisa Demuth and Senate minority leader Mark Johnson are elected by their caucus to represent the will of the majority of the Republican legislators. If Demuth and Johnson are signing onto big government deals with Democrats without the blessing of the majority of their given caucus, the GOP legislators would have serious reason to look for new leadership at the top.
While we would love to give Patriots the inside scoop on this legislation, only about half of the drafts of the bills are publicly available on the MN Legislative website as of this article’s publishing. We the People have been left in the dark in these backroom discussions. Democrats and RINO party leaders are signing off on all kinds of corruption and promising the votes of their party to get the bills passed when those same legislators haven’t seen the bills in full themselves! Aside from piecing together hours of joint committee meetings on these bills, it will be very difficult for members of the public to know what is going on at all until the bills can be read. Even most of the legislators have no idea what is in all of these bills!
With the Speakership and shared majority in the House, Demuth made the worst deal of all signers because she had serious leverage and could’ve been a hard-line negotiator. Instead, Demuth started sounding like a Democrat throughout negotiations as she began calling illegal aliens “undocumented Minnesotans”. It will be very telling if Demuth uses the Speakership to block Republican legislators in the House from proposing conservative amendments or how she will limit their speech. Considering the large amount of bills the Uniparty hopes to pass in a single day, Republican members speaking at all halts the agenda. Empty Suit Lisa 'Kamala' Demuth does not care what she is pushing politically, she's just happy to be the one doing it.
The topic of the bill addressing free healthcare for illegal alien adults is one that still requires more clarity and transparency. This bill and the Health omnibus bill are not publicly available on the MN Legislative website to read as of publishing. Our previous reporting highlighted Demuth flip-flopping on the funding for illegal alien free healthcare and her willingness to support a stand-alone bill funding this with some sort of GOP concession for funding of their choice. Clearly she does not understand the proper role of government and does not have a grasp of (or belief in) conservative principles.
Since our previous reporting, it appears the nature of the stand alone bill could have flipped on its head, be designed to fail, will do nothing, and gives cover to Republicans as a pretend drawing line in the sand. Instead of including the removal of free illegal alien healthcare within the Health omnibus bill, they are having a stand alone bill supposedly removing the funding of free illegal alien healthcare. Until the bill is publicly available, all will be speculation. We will inform readers as soon as we can. There are a few possibilities in play until then:
- The bill does eliminate the funding but will not pass (Dem leaders withhold votes or Walz vetoes) and is meant to serve as a way for Republicans to pretend they are fighting to strip the funding
- The bill does not actually cut off all free healthcare for illegal aliens (will be discovered once bill is publicly available)
- The bill does eliminate all funding and passes both chambers
The only way Republicans can eliminate free healthcare for illegal aliens is to pass a vote that amends MN Statute section 256L.04 subdivision 10 and section 256B.06 subdivision 4, which was changed to include illegal aliens in MinnesotaCare in the 2023 Health omnibus bill (SF2995). If this is not repealed and changed correctly, illegal aliens will still receive socialist benefits.
We know to keep our expectations low with politicians and will inform Patriots what takes place. As listed in the agreement above, the bill is titled “Modifying MinnesotaCare for Undocumented Adults Bill” which does not explicitly say funding would be eliminated and could be some kind of reduction. If it is the case that the bill doesn’t really end the funding or . If we are also to take each party leader at their word, it would mean Hortman and Murphy will, on their own or with politically convenient members, will vote with Republicans on the bill. The internal dynamics of the Democrat party might certainly explode in that scenario as well. A veto from Walz cannot be taken out of contention either, don't forget, he is the guy who just told Democrats that they need to be "meaner"! Who thinks Walz wouldn't lie during negotiations then do what he wants?
The House GOP broke the news about their deal with Democrats with the following:
“More updates coming soon”... What?!? Why can’t the GOP be upfront on the deal they made with Walz? They are caving to Democrats on spending and policy while taking potshots over the past. While it is true that no-show Democrats halted legislative action in the opening days, it was House Republicans caving to liberal demands of seating leftist Brad Tabke (54A) despite the massive election fraud and razor thin vote margin and it appears the same spinelessness is on display again.
GOP Establishment Rep. Walter Hudson (30A) has even posted on X suggesting that members may not be “obedient” to the terms of the special session. See below:
Action 4 Liberty encourages legislators to legislate! Legislators should feel free to make amendments, offer speeches in debate, and represent their constituents fully during this special session. They should not be relegated to being a puppet of their party leadership. A4L encourages all legislators to think for themselves and oppose the big government omnibus package put forward by Walz and Uniparty legislative leaders. GOP Reps and Senators do NOT have to just do as they are told. They do NOT have to suspend the rules to help Democrats.
Radical leftists, RINOs, and other big government tyrants are destroying our state and conservatives can NEVER take a shutdown off of the table. Our previous reporting highlighted how conservative legislators could leverage a government shutdown in order to get conservative policy wins and spending cuts. If Republicans are not willing to take a fight to its logical end, radical leftists will always take advantage. We will keep Patriots informed when more information surrounding the finer details of the special session are available.
