Minnesotans have the opportunity at local conventions to endorse candidates for State Representative and State Senator. Many of these conventions are quickly approaching, with some happening this Saturday (2/21/26). In the case of the SD57 GOP (Lakeville, Credit River, Elko New Market area), they are protecting their RINO incumbent by falsely claiming he holds the GOP endorsement ahead of the convention.

The SD57 GOP website was updated to include rules and other documentation in relation to their quickly upcoming BPOU/endorsing convention but the endorsements are from the previous cycle. As seen on the SD57 GOP website as of 2/19/26, they claim that RINO career politician Jon Koznick is endorsed. See below:

Koznick has seemingly not met with the Nominations Committee yet and is contested for the 57A State Representative endorsement by Grassroots conservative Rick Stidger. It is a violation of MNGOP bylaws to support a candidate pre-endorsement and it is even a violation of state statute for a candidate to falsely claim a party endorsement as seen in MN Statute 211B.02.

The 57A delegates are the only individuals who can decide who is and isn’t endorsed. The SD57 leadership listing this on their website stabs those delegates in the back by showing favor to a RINO incumbent. The delegates have every Right to elect conservative outsider Rick Stidger over a RINO career politician who has spent over a decade of his life voting for unconstitutional omnibus bills (as seen in A4L Scorecards).

In 2024, the SD57 GOP faked an endorsing convention to pretend Koznick was endorsed ahead of the real convention. As seen in previous A4L reporting, the fake convention was celebrated by the Establishment-controlled HRCC despite competition and delegates being shut out from the process. 

Republican delegates in SD57 do not have to automatically award RINO Jon Koznick with the GOP endorsement. Just last year, Koznick voted for all kinds of liberal garbage like voting to spend $2M for a DEI center for the MN Dept. of Education. Koznick appears to have lost touch with the grassroots conservatives who put him in office and he could pay the cost of those votes at Saturday’s convention.

Action 4 Liberty will continue to advocate for honest, fair, and truthful political actions. The SD57 GOP must IMMEDIATELY remove the false Koznick endorsement to allow their delegation to decide for themselves.
