Senate GOP Makes Pathetic Compromise Offer to Radical Dems

Republicans have one leverage point against the radical Democrat agenda in the remaining two months of the legislative session. In order to pass a massive $1.5 Billion bonding spending package, Democrats need a bunch of Republican votes to pass the 3/5th threshold required of passing a bonding bill.

The message of what the Republican base wants is crystal clear: give back the surplus, no gun control and stop liberalizing Minnesota abortion laws. Not a single of these items is in the "compromise" deal offered by lame Senate Republican leader Mark Johnson, speaking on behalf of his caucus. Johnson stated in the press conference that he thinks the Democrats and Republicans are "on the same page."

Instead, they offered to the Democrats that they will pass the massive bond spending bill without giving back the entire surplus to Minnesotans. In fact, their "compromise deal" gives back less than $3 Billion of the $21 Billion surplus.

One member of the media noticed that the Republicans were actually increasing the budget to Health & Human Services more than the Democrats and asked if that was correct. Sen Eric Pratt responded that the Democrats proposed a $1.3 billion increase this year and a $1.5 Billion increase next year and "we're kicking that up 1.8 in the first year and an extra $230 Million in the second year."

Watch Sen Eric Pratt admit that:

Here's the lackluster "compromise offer" issued by Senate Republicans:

The problem with this whole negotiation is that Minnesota Republican legislators actually like more government spending and debt. We've written extensively about this for many years.

Mark Johnson and Senate Republicans would be smart to follow the wisdom of Donald Trump from his book "Art of the Deal"

“The worst thing you can possibly do in a deal is seem desperate to make it. That makes the other guy smell blood, and then you’re dead. The best thing you can do is deal from strength, and leverage is the biggest strength you can have. Leverage is having something the other guy wants. Or better yet, needs. Or best of all, simply can’t do without.”

Tell your Republican Senator to STOP being a weakling. The radical leftist agenda is a real threat to our freedoms and our pocketbooks. Tell them NO deal on bonding unless there's no gun control, no more liberalized abortion laws and GIVE BACK THE SURPLUS!
