Minnesota has an open U.S. Senate seat that will lead the primary and general election ballots. Incumbent lunatic Democrat Tina Smith has been an embarrassment for Minnesota and some speculate that Minnesota could swing Republican under the right circumstances.
There are nine GOP candidates in the U.S. Senate primary election taking place on Tuesday, August 11th. To learn about all of the options, read below:
Adam Schwarze

Adam Schwarze is the MNGOP-endorsed candidate for U.S. Senate and is a ten-year infantry Marine and an eleven-year Navy Seal veteran. Schwarze has been the most active candidate in regards to on-the-ground events and meeting voters where they are. During Schwarze’s military service, he disobeyed tyrannical Covid quarantine orders in Hawaii (where he was stationed and did not have Covid) and had to fight to clear his name with the military. The most common reason conservatives cite as their reason they do not support Schwarze is due to his donation to Nikki Haley and her presidential campaign naming him the CD5 co-chair for her MN campaign and his donations to Nikki Haley. Schwarze has since explained that he did not follow the presidential race, the debates, or Haley’s candidacy but his girlfriend’s family supported her and he didn’t realize his name being listed would appear as an endorsement. Schwarze has said it was a mistake and that he stands with President Trump. As seen in previous A4L reporting, Schwarze blew the whistle on voter fraud by claiming that his vote was stolen in 2012. KSTP polling has continued to show low levels of support for Schwarze, even with one poll unbelievably stating that little-known Tom Weiler was out-polling Schwarze. Adam Schwarze has signaled support for the Iran War, pushes a pro-life message, and has been endorsed by two U.S. Senators and many state legislators. More of Schwarze’s policy positions can be seen on his campaign website.
Michele Tafoya

Michele Tafoya is a well-known name due to her professional career as a NFL sideline reporter. As seen in previous A4L reporting, Tafoya is out of step with MN conservatives due to her anti-Trump and pro-abortion political positions. Supporters of Tafoya argue she is the most electable candidate, though they are forgetting that she will need the votes of nearly all of the over 1.5M Trump voters in MN in order to win. Tafoya’s longtime opposition to President Trump and her support of taxpayer funded abortion will cause many MAGA and Pro-Life voters to not show up to vote in the general election. Tafoya seemingly believes Joe Biden was legitimately elected by calling the 2020 Stop The Steal effort “election-denialism”. Tafoya has said that she leans left on social issues and wrote an open letter to Trump in 2022 demanding he not run for President again in 2024, even calling Trump “chaos” , not sane, and implying that he doesn't genuinely love America. During the 2024 GOP Presidential debates, Tafoya sang the praises of Neo-Con Nikki Haley for her uninformed, hawkish takes on the Ukraine/Russia War. Tafoya initially endorsed Ron DeSanctimonious for President but later posted an article on social media demanding Nikki Haley stay in the race and be more aggressive in attacking Trump. Tafoya has been endorsed by the NRSC and RINO U.S. Senator Tim Scott, highlighting that the D.C. Swamp thinks she'd fit in. Despite having the biggest financial and name ID advantage, Tafoya handedly lost the MNGOP endorsement at the state convention. Tafoya has been the leading the GOP primary polls but her liberal record is keeping many conservatives from voting for her. Tafoya has signaled support for the Iran War. More can be seen about Tafoya on her campaign website.
Royce White

Royce White was the 2024 GOP nominee for U.S. Senate against Shaky Amy Klobuchar and outperformed all preceding Republican opponents to Klobuchar. White captured the MNGOP endorsement at the 2024 State Convention and again defeated his main opponent, He/Him banker Joe Frasier, and six other candidates in the primary. Due to being primaried by the Establishment in the 2024 election and his distrust with MNGOP Chair Alex Plechash running the convention fairly, White is refusing to abide by the party endorsement. According to his campaign website, White is endorsed by America First thought leaders like Alex Jones, Steve Bannon, Mike Lindell, Kari Lake, and Matt Gaetz. White has a speaking style and charisma that cannot be taught and as a former NBA player with a brash, hardcore style, he is able to appeal to MN conservatives and broader audiences. Some on the right critique White’s use of profanity on social media or hold campaign finance mistakes over his head but Royce appears unfazed. Royce White has been the most active of the candidates in creating differentiation between the GOP candidates. White has called Adam Schwarze a NeoCon for being a listed endorser of and donor to Nikki Haley’s 2024 Presidential campaign, called out Michele Tafoya for her anti-Trump/pro-abortion record, and attacked Tom Weiler for his defense contract work. White is the only major GOP candidate who distinctly tells voters that he is America First, not Israel First or any other Globalist ideology. White’s critiques of Israel/AIPAC and the U.S. politicians beholden to them will distinguish him from the large pack of candidates, as most will follow standard Establishment thinking on the issue. As seen in recent A4L reporting, Royce White SLAMMED Michele Tafoya on abortion and amnesty in the Farmfest forum. More can be seen about Royce White on his campaign website.
Tom Weiler

Tom Weiler is a twenty-year Navy veteran and was the 2022 GOP nominee in CD3 against Democrat Dean Phillips. In that campaign, Weiler was endorsed by Neo-Con Dan Crenshaw (Eye-Patch McCain) and sources tell A4L that Weiler supported using the previously mentioned military paperwork error to force Adam Schwarze out of the CD3 race. Since that race, Weiler had been doing defense contractor work with the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) and the Office of Naval Research (ONR). As seen in a screenshot on social media, Weiler’s LinkedIn page appears to have originally said he lived in Maryland, making some question if he is carpetbagging. This in mind, Weiler does have lifelong connections to Minnesota according to his campaign website bio. Weiler has not managed to gain serious traction in the U.S. Senate campaign thus far but as someone who has won an endorsing convention and was the GOP nominee for a U.S. Congressional seat, he should not be fully counted out yet. Weiler refused to abide by the 2026 U.S. Senate party endorsement and received just 2.2% at the state convention. Previous polling from KSTP unbelievably stated that Weiler had more support overall than Schwarze and more support from young voters than Royce White. Some have speculated that Weiler is only in the race to detract votes from Schwarze, though Weiler has attacked Tafoya for her refusal to debate him. More can be seen about Weiler on his campaign website.
Patrick Munro

Patrick Munro is a conservative candidate who is running on an agenda to “Make Americans Makers Again”. The essence of the agenda is to increase American manufacturing, improve national security, and tap into America’s creative potential. Munro has run for office multiple times including three Congressional primary campaigns against Somalia First RINO Tom Emmer, two previous campaigns for U.S. Senate, and one previous campaign for State Senate. Munro was a volunteer at A4L’s 2025 State Fair booth and is a hardcore conservative. More can be seen about Munro on his campaign website.
Bob “Again” Carney Jr.
Perennial candidate Bob “Again” Carney is again on Minnesota GOP primary ballots. Carney is known for wearing his “Super RINO Man” costume at events. At a BPOU convention in CD1 in 2022 while running for Governor, Carney was booed off the stage after attacking President Trump and calling for the Supreme Court to have a trial against Trump for insurrection on January 6th. Carney appears on the ballot in just about every election cycle, including a Minneapolis City Council seat where he claims he would not have taken the oath of office if he won.
Joyce Lacey

Joyce Lacey has run for office a couple of times including the 2022 GOP Governor primary against Scott Jensen and in 2024 for U.S. Senate as the Independence-Alliance Party nominee. Lacey’s campaign website offers a vague vision of being a voice for the voiceless and her thoughts on several issues. Lacey was given a distinction from gun-grabber group Moms Demand Action, showing that she would infringe on Americans’ 2nd Amendment Rights if elected. Joyce Lacey was also won the Ms. Wheelchair Minnesota crown in 2000.
Cynthia Gail

Cynthia Gail has run for office a few times including a 2016 primary run for state senate where she was defeated by Gene Dornink. Gail also ran for U.S. Senate in 2020 and finished second in the primary, defeated by Jason Lewis. Gail does not have a website that shows her agenda but she appears to have an old campaign Facebook page.
Ahmad Hassan

Ahmad Hassan is a perennial candidate who does not appear to be a citizen of Minnesota. He owns reality and mortgage businesses based in Texas and Kansas. Hassan has run for office in Texas, Kansas, and Minnesota for the last several years, including this year. Hassan has primarily run as a Democrat and recently ran in the US Senate Democrat primary in Texas against ratchet Jasmine Crockett and James “Low T” Talarico. As seen in the picture above, Hassan is posing with gun-grabber leftist Beto O’Rourke, who he calls "the great Beto". Hassan’s campaign website says he left the Democratic party due to poor leadership. Hassan also lists himself as a doctor of some kind but his website does not say what kind of doctor he is. Hassan primaried Tina Smith in 2020 and Amy Klobuchar in 2024 in U.S. Senate races.
Democrats
There are six Democrats seeking their party’s U.S. Senate nomination in the primary. Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan and Congresswoman Angie Craig are the only real contenders in the race. Very little separates the two ideologically but Flanagan has been embraced by the far-left including Bernie Sanders, Keith Ellison, Ilhan Omar, and more. Flanagan is considered to be the weaker general election candidate because of her role in the Walz Administration on the issue of fraud. Here is a brief summary of the other four Democratic candidates:
Kurt Anderson - Former Democrat party activist, attorney, says he is conservative socially and fiscally radically liberal, campaign website is a document on a Google Drive
George Kalberer - Capital management business owner, former Star Tribune employee, no campaign website
Peter Murgic - Concerned with big money in politics, has a Facebook campaign page
Billy Nord - Endorsed by David Cross and other C/D tier celebrities, put some of his agenda on Reddit, was interviewed on The Truth Hurts, and has a very limited campaign website
The winner of the GOP and Democrat primaries will go on to face Libertarian Rebecca Whiting and Independent Marisa “Tarantula” Simonetti.
Action 4 Liberty will continue to provide Patriots with liberty-based reporting that cannot be found anywhere else.
