While most people have to work for a living, the MNGOP has scheduled a special State Central convention at 1PM on a Tuesday. This convention will take place on September 1st in Plymouth and has been scheduled for the purpose of holding endorsement votes for RINOs Michele Tafoya, Lisa Demuth, and Scott Jensen. While some see it as a forgone conclusion that Tafoya, Demuth, and Jensen will be endorsed, others see it differently.

The party endorsement is very significant because it carries party resources, finances, and volunteers that a candidate would not have access to otherwise as required by Article IV, Section 3, Subsection A, #5 of the MNGOP Constitution. If party endorsements are withheld at this convention, the MNGOP may be forced to only put statewide resources behind SOS nominee Tad Jude and AG nominee Ron Schutz since they are Republican-endorsed candidates.

While Tafoya and Jensen did not pledge to abide by the party endorsement decided at the May State Convention, RINO Lisa Demuth did. After losing by over 23% in the final round for the Governor endorsement, Demuth announced her Establishment-backed campaign would continue. Now, State Central delegates get to decide if they want to now give endorsements to the candidates who undermined their delegate roles.

First of all, Article II, Section 5 of the MNGOP Bylaws requires that at least 30% of the State Central delegates from at least 29 counties be in attendance to establish a quorum (the number of people needed in a meeting to conduct business). A strict interpretation of this bylaw would require that the quorum only apply to delegates and not alternates. This means that if enough delegates or counties are not in attendance, the meeting would have to be adjourned and no endorsements could be offered.

If a quorum is established, the endorsements are still not guaranteed. Article IV, Section 3, Subsection D of the MNGOP Constitution requires that a candidate receive 60% of the vote to be endorsed. 

There is major dissatisfaction among grassroots conservatives with RINOs Michele Tafoya, Lisa Demuth, and Scott Jensen. Online betting markets currently show Tafoya and Demuth with abysmal odds of winning the general election, with Tafoya at 8% chance of winning and Demuth at an even more pathetic 5% chance. Some GOP delegates may take these figures into consideration and suggest the state party only spend funds on someone like Ron Schutz, who is tied in KSTP/Survey USA polling with radical leftist AG Keith Ellison. It is not unheard of for the MNGOP to withhold the party endorsement after the primary election, in fact we can look as recently as 2024 for an example. Carpetbagging Emmer puppet Joe Teirab was defeated for the CD2 Congress endorsement but he continued his campaign after pledging to abide by the results. Then, his party-endorsed opponent suddenly withdrew from the race due to Globalist RINO Tom Emmer getting him a job. Due to lying to delegates and being out of touch with grassroots conservatives, CD2 Republicans voted to not give RINO Joe Teirab the endorsement after the primary.

Side note: In the process of researching the party documents on the MNGOP's "Party Resources" webpage, it was discovered that their hyperlink for Robert's Rules of Order goes to a Vietnamese website about streaming soccer games.
