CFB Seeks to Penalize Self-Sufficient Candidates for Not Helping Opponents

Minnesota’s Campaign Finance Board (CFB) is a governmental entity that administers and enforces laws regarding campaign finance and lobbying. Through the MN CFB website, individuals can see financial reports of candidates which includes their donors and spending.

This tool for transparency and the CFB’s enforcement of laws is meant to serve as a nonpartisan entity that can be independent of politics. Unfortunately, the CFB has become overly punitive and is over-reaching in their authority.

The Establishment has attempted, and failed, each time they've tried to take A4L down with the CFB because A4L is honest and is truly representative of the grassroots!

A rule that the CFB is lobbying for states that they will begin penalizing candidates who refuse the public subsidy money. The CFB is now demanding that self-sufficient candidates report when meeting fundraising thresholds to benefit THEIR OPPONENT! That’s right, the CFB wants self-funding candidates to also be looking out for the interests of their opponent instead of their own campaign! See below:

The above information can be seen on pages 11, 27, and 28 in this document. Campaign finance law is backwards when a candidate must take action to help their opponent.

The CFB should not make running for office any more difficult, there are enough barriers keeping the grassroots out and the political elitists in. A4L will continue in our mission to protect liberty for the next generation by exposing the corruption, fraud, and dirty tricks used by the MN Uniparty.
