Hudson Reveals His Collaboration With Dems to do Nothing

Legislators are supposed to be fighting for their constituents every single day using every lever at their disposal to deliver results. Unfortunately, the St. Paul Swamp lures politicians in to maintain the status quo, grow government, and undermine the fight for liberty.

Many politicians are know-it-alls who have inflated egos but nobody fits that bill better than Walter Hudson. Anyone that takes a look at Hudson’s social media will see that it is flooded with self-congratulatory, ego-driven posts that attempt to make him sound profound. While he usually frames things as if he is opposing the Democrat’s far-left agenda, he revealed that he collaborated with a Democrat to do nothing on the House floor on Thursday, Feb. 26th. Rather than fighting for his constituents by bringing forward popular, single-subject bills for floor votes, Hudson would rather go home and tweet all weekend in just the second week of the legislative session.

See X post below:

Hudson is a prime example of how political power can change someone. Hudson loved Action 4 Liberty while he was a regular citizen but now that he is the one in office, it’s turned upside down. In Hudson’s first term in the House, he championed A4L’s Never Again Bill but never forced a floor vote. Once Hudson began working for the MNGOP to be the Somali/minority outreach coordinator under the direction of corrupt MNGOP Chair David Hann, Hudson began to change and ultimately started arguing that A4L supporters should be purged from the party (an action he opposed when Jennifer Carnahan was MNGOP Chair). See announcement of MNGOP hiring Hudson below, including his (self-admitted) failed focus on Somali voters in the final paragraph:

The GOP House could be proposing single-subject bills that shrink the size of government, lower taxes, eliminate fraud, reduce regulations, and protect our God-given liberties. By calling a truce with Democrats, Hudson made sure the GOP did nothing to deliver for their base. Democrat politicians have shown that they will vote against measures that have 80-20 or even 90-10 support levels among Americans, Hudson could be showing how radical they are with pointed floor votes but it appears he does not want to actually fight legislatively. Perhaps it is actually a good thing that Hudson and Dems are collaborating to do nothing as opposed to doing something like when Hudson did when he worked with Democrats to pass anti-free speech legislation that made it illegal to share AI memes of politicians or you could face 5 years in prison and/or a $10K fine.

As seen in previous A4L reporting, Hudson started the Uniparty domino effect on the House floor earlier in the week by supporting a Democrat, anti-ICE bill to advance from one committee to another right after the Democrats refused to advance the bill that creates an office of the Inspector General to investigate MN fraud. Grassroots conservatives continue to be fed up with the GOP getting played by the Democrats while getting nothing in return. As seen in the reporting, only 18 GOP Reps voted no and saw through the Democrats and Walter Hudson while another 6 Republicans abstained.

While in office, Hudson has chosen to protect RINOs like Ron Kresha from allegations of PPP loan fraud and protect Tom Emmer from conservative opposition for the GOP endorsement. Rather than fighting for grassroots conservatives, Hudson has been a loyal member of the Establishment RINO cult and refuses to oppose them on anything.

Action 4 Liberty will never waiver in our conservative principles or defense of liberty. The St. Paul Swamp does not have the answers and Establishment henchmen like Walter Hudson only pretend to fight corruption. A4L will continue to be consistent in the fight to shrink the size and scope of government to protect our Constitutional liberties.

Let’s be careful not to read too much into a conversation about weekend plans. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be home for church and family over the weekend, and to have a bit of quiet time to do the homework on pending legislation. This one-weekend agreement is not equivalent to “caving” or “planning” to ignore the single-subject law. It may come back to bite with a time crunch at the end of the session, but that’s a judgment call at this point

The reason the Legislature has trouble getting things done properly and on time is that it has the state government doing too many things, just like Congress. It is evidently not enough of a constraint to limit the length of the session and require single-subject bills. We need to help our legislators out by constitutionally restricting the state government to a set of enumerated powers (with teeth including allowing any citizen to file suit against an infraction, regardless of whether he or she incurred monetary damage as a result).
