The MN Democrat Party is a financial powerhouse that the GOP has failed to keep up with for decades. Republicans are at a major fundraising disadvantage and Democrats have stacked the deck. In order to win the MN Governor race, Republicans will need big money from conservatives around the nation. Democrats are ready to pull out all the stops and spend as much as needed. Unfortunately for Republicans, Lisa Demuth has put a spending limit on her campaign in order to participate in the Socialist public subsidy agreement and receive YOUR tax dollars to spend on campaign purposes.

Candidates have a choice when filing for office whether to participate in the public subsidy agreement or not. The program requires your campaign to set a spending limit and in return you get thousands in tax dollars. In 2022, Jensen received over half a million dollars, Keith Ellison got over $146K, Julie Blaha got over $55K, and Kim Crockett got over $66K. See below:

In 2024, the CFB spent over $2M of your tax dollars to fund crony politicians with over $1.2M going to Democrats and over $860K going to Republicans. This Socialist program should not exist and only enables candidates to be leaching off of tax dollars.

In contrast, Amy Klobuchar does not have a spending limit, which means she could spend a billion dollars and there’s nothing Demuth could do about it. See below:

Lisa Demuth’s main Republican opponents, Mike Lindell and Kendall Qualls, have both refused the public subsidy agreement and have no spending limit (click names to view CFB filings). By doing so, Lindell and Qualls give themselves a fighting chance against Klobuchar. Meanwhile, Demuth handcuffed herself and would go into the general election with a disadvantage. Another Governor candidate, minister John Krhin, recently posted a video on social media explaining why he is refusing to participate in the public subsidy agreement.

While the 2025 year-end CFB report from Demuth's campaign does not list it, Demuth has already dropped big money on TV commercials for the caucus! All of the money she wastes before the general election is deducted from her $4.2M spending cap, meaning that when she wastes money on caucus commercials, she is hurting her campaign and the GOP's odds of winning the Governorship in 2026!

In 2022, Walz campaign committee spent nearly $10M to keep the Governor’s office in Democrat control and Demuth can’t even spend half of that amount! The millions in dollars that Klobuchar, Walz, and the MN Democrat Party currently have in reserves ALREADY outsizes what Demuth can spend in total! See 2022 Walz campaign spending below:

If Lisa Demuth is the Republican nominee, it will almost GUARANTEE defeat! Aside from being an uninspiring politician with an awful voting record that backstabs conservatives by doing backroom deals with Democrats, Lisa Demuth will not be able to financially compete with Klobuchar. As seen in previous A4L reporting, Demuth raised more from lobbyists and PACs than she did from small dollar donors! In contrast, the majority of Mike Lindell’s financial support came from small dollar, grassroots donors, many of which were out of state (bringing out of state money in will be needed for Republicans to defeat the Democratic machine).

Demuth’s running mate, Ryan Wilson, did not sign onto the public subsidy agreement in his 2022 run for Auditor, making some question why he and Demuth are doing it in an even more high-stakes matchup. While Demuth led the caucus straw poll, she did not get a third of the vote, showing how much of a tossup the GOP race still is.

Action 4 Liberty will continue providing Patriots with hard-hitting, anti-establishment, liberty-based reporting that cannot be found anywhere else. Lisa Demuth has handcuffed her own campaign all for extra campaign funds at the taxpayers’ expense. Demuth makes it next to impossible for Republicans to win, even if she were as strong of a candidate as her supporters make her out to be.
