As reported by Action 4 Liberty’s new Communications Development Coordinator, Wendy Phillips, in a previous article, RINO Chair David Hann took it upon himself to direct Secretary of State Steve Simon and the Campaign Finance Board (CFB) to decertify Otter Tail County’s Republican BPOU. In a final vindictive move, Hann dug the knife deeper into the backs of the conservative grassroots in OTC.

The attempt to decertify OTC was a blatant example of Hann’s bitter attempt to hurt the party on his way out the door. It should be noted that he made this move after the State Central convention, likely knowing he wouldn’t be able to explain away the issue to delegates while trying to earn their support. Regardless, David Hann was removed as Chair after conservative delegates consolidated around Alex Plechash in the final round of voting.

Action 4 Liberty supporters and OTC conservatives pushed Alex Plechash across the finish line, many of which initially supported the candidacy of Bret Bussman as the grassroots candidate. Conservatives statewide had become fed up with Hann weaponizing the party to the benefit of the establishment so they decided to kick Hann to the curb. Hann’s actions against the OTC grassroots conservatives was one of the major reasons he was FIRED by the State Central delegate body.

New MNGOP Chair Alex Plechash has fought Hann’s actions by stopping the decertification of the OTC BPOU, which is exactly why delegates elected him! This is a great start but the job is not done in Otter Tail.

The duly-elected delegates in OTC must be restored and the local grassroots must have total control over their local party! Anything short of that will continue the corruption that has attacked the grassroots and rewarded the Swamp.
