The only way to eliminate Minnesota’s multi-billion dollar fraud scheme is to drastically shrink the size of government, eliminate pork-barrel omnibus bills, and abolish/defund the fraud-ridden programs. The Uniparty is always looking to grow government and will only offer symbolic measures in opposing fraud. In contrast, Sen. Nathan Wesenberg (SD10) is striking at the heart of the issue by introducing a bill (SF4421) that abolishes and defunds the fraud-ridden Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP).

Independent journalist Nick Shirley shocked the world when he exposed that Minnesota was funneling billions of dollars into fake and fraudulent daycares, often run by Somali migrants. The outright deception seemed apparent with taxpayer funded institutions like the “Quality Learing Center” being incapable of properly spelling the word “Learning” in their signage. See below:

Childcare fraud is nothing new in Minnesota. Action 4 Liberty has been fighting this scam for eight years! A4L even created a petition to defund the CCAP childcare program seven years ago! As seen in A4L reporting from 2019 and 2020, we’ve been exposing how CCAP funds have been funneled to Somalia for years! A4L demanded that the GOP defund the program each legislative session but Republican leadership has failed to deliver.

Rather than cut around the edges, Sen. Wesenberg wants to trash the program so Minnesota can start fresh! Wesenberg seems to understand that Minnesota’s fraud problem requires drastic action and fraud-ridden programs cannot be salvaged, they must be eliminated.

Wesenberg introduced the bill (SF4421) on Thursday, March 12th and it received its first reading. The bill now goes to the Senate Health and Human Services Committee. Committee member RINO Senator Jim Abeler (SD35) has the opportunity to redeem himself on this issue after A4L previously had to inform his constituents of the fraudulent program he supported funding. Sen. Wesenberg is joined on the bills by Senate co-authors Cal Bahr (SD31), Steve Drazkowski (SD20), and Eric Lucero (SD31). A4L is told by sources at the Capitol that a bill to eliminate CCAP will be introduced in the State House on Monday, March 16th.

Action 4 Liberty will continue demanding our government shrink down to serving its core, Constitutional functions. Minnesota does not have time to cut the fraud one penny at a time, fraudulent programs must be eliminated and taxpayers must be able to keep more of their hard-earned money.
