It is crystal clear what Democrats want in a State Auditor: A compromised, partisan leftist who will not speak out against corruption and fraud whether it be blatantly obvious or hidden from the public.
Minnesota citizens may look closer at the State Auditor election than ever after federal prosecutors said fraud may have wasted over $1 Billion worth of tax dollars in Minnesota under Tim Walz/Democrat control.
The State Auditor race is often overlooked with more attention and focus brought to high-profile races like the U.S. Senate, Congress, Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, and Secretary of State races. Unfortunately, this has resulted in Minnesota’s “financial watchdog” failing to provide transparent, accountable, and effective government as promised.
The State Auditor’s office has been controlled by Julie Blaha, a partisan Democrat who puts party over truth. Her tenure includes silence as over $1 Billion of tax dollars were wasted on fraud passed by Dems and RINOs in the legislature and overseen by Dem executive officers. When she has intervened, it has more often than not been ‘too little, too late’. From the Feeding Our Future scam to child care fraud to all other corrupt programs that wasted our tax dollars, Julie Blaha could have intervened but was either too incompetent or too compromised to do so.
Blaha has earned the nickname ‘White Claw Blaha’ following herself and then Senate Minority Leader Melissa Lopez Franzen leaving a fundraiser and hitting a semi-truck while Blaha was driving. Upon police arrival, they discovered a “very cold” and “pretty full” White Claw can that Morgan Fire Department Assistant Chief Justin Blomeke suspected was opened when they left the event and maybe had a drink or two out of it.
State Democrat party chair (now DNC Chair) Ken Martin rushed to the scene to label himself the point of contact and telling officers that Lopez Franzen and Blaha were elected officials, as if being in political office excuses their actions. Quite ironic coming from the guy who constantly calls President Trump a convicted felon that he wanted in prison for made up crimes. Blaha was not found to have alcohol in her system but was issued a citation related only to the accident and not the open container of alcohol.
Unfortunately for Minnesota, alcohol-scandal Democrats are drawn to the State Auditor’s office! In what appeared to be coordinated, hours after Blaha announced she would not be seeking reelection, DWI Dan Wolgamott jumped in the race! A4L received word days beforehand that Wolgamott would not be seeking reelection in the St. Cloud swing district race of 14B but figured it would be too ridiculous for Wolgamott to try to be Blaha’s successor, however, the Democrats have outdone themselves again!
Wolgamott is another partisan leftist who doesn’t have an independent bone in his body who would vote with the party on anything meaningful. As the former Speaker pro tempore for the state House, Wolgamott has overseen and supported the worst abuses of the legislative power in the history of our state.
Beyond politics, in 2021 Wolgamott abandoned his car in a stranger’s yard in Golden Valley without the property owner’s consent supposedly due to an “icy road”, however, nobody with common sense would abandon their vehicle in a random yard because they slipped off the road. In 2023, Wolgamott was seen on surveillance video footage chugging vodka in a liquor store parking lot before getting a DWI and being arrested. What is even crazier to believe is that the crony MPPOA (police group) endorsed Wolgamott following the DWI, proving that the group’s leadership is failing to represent rank and file police officer’s interests in their political endorsements. Wolgamott may also get some blowback from the left as a weak candidate, and he hilariously "misgendered" Rep. Alicia Kozlowski (8B) by calling her a "her" instead of a they/them.
Wolgamott appears to be the only Democrat running for State Auditor currently and no Republican has yet announced. In 2022, GOP nominee Ryan Wilson came within 0.34% (8,435 votes) of defeating Julie Blaha with two marijuana political party candidates collecting over 5% of the vote. This race was the most narrowly decided statewide election in Minnesota in 2022. Wolgamott's track record may give Republicans a serious chance at taking this office in 2026.
Wilson is now Chair of the America First Policy Institute Minnesota Chapter where he preemptively ceded the idea of a special session but is directing the legislature not to pass gun control but to use the session to spend money funding religious private schools. A4L similarly rejects the idea of any gun control but instead advises the legislature to pass the Rep. Roach/Sen. Wesenberg bill that removes state law blocking detransition counseling for individuals with gender dysphoria and MAHA related issues surrounding Big Pharma and the mass-prescription of drugs and so-called anti-depressants for kids, teenagers, and adults.
Action 4 Liberty will keep Patriots informed on the State Auditor race as it continues to develop because Democrats have a candidate in Dan Wolgamott who would cover up their corruption through 2030. Grassroots conservatives and Minnesotans statewide are fed up with the corruption and fiscal embarrassment our state has become and A4L will continue to be their microphone.
