In a press conference on Friday, Jan. 9th, President Trump’s Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent explained to the press how the Treasury Dept. will be investigating Minnesota (and other states’) massive fraud operations. Bessent slammed Tim Walz for allowing such widespread fraud and brutally attacks a program designed to send U.S. dollars to Somalia which was pushed initially by Globalist RINO Tom Emmer and radical Socialist Keith Ellison! As seen in previous A4L reporting, President Trump trolled Tom Emmer at the Congressional Ball by saying "He's a big fan of Somalia!"

Since President Trump’s return to the White House, Tom Emmer has been desperate to appear as if he is America First when he has spent his entire career opposing the movement. Emmer’s rebranding toward Somali fraud is a complete 180° from his previous stance.

As seen in previous A4L reporting, Tom Emmer co-formed the Congressional Somali Caucus alongside radical Socialist Keith Ellison and worked together legislatively to allow remittances (U.S. dollars) to be sent from our country to Somalia. This money has been pocketed by Somali terrorist group Al-Shabaab, proving the policy put America LAST.

When confronted by constituents over the mass migration of Somalis into St. Cloud, Emmer berated them and even claimed that Somalis are some of the fastest assimilating cultures… That has been proven to be a flat-out lie! Somalis have proven, at large, to be one of the LEAST assimilating cultures! Emmer even worked with Amy Klobuchar to send Somalia welfare, yet another America LAST policy by Emmer!

On the issue of Somali remittances and their funding of terrorist groups, Sec. Scott Bessent had the following to say:

“Given the geographic proximity and the wires to east Africa, we are in the middle of investigations and what we have found is highly concerning, I cannot talk about ongoing investigations. But think of the absurdity. Think of the absurdity of money being wired from Minnesota by these individuals that could have come from government programs or from excess benefits. This should not be wired out of the country and we are going to be cracking down on that.”

Sec. Scott Bessent is laying out some common sense that conservatives have known all along yet Tom Emmer pushed forward with the policy anyway! Bessent speaks for the America First movement on this issue because sending terrorist-controlled Somalia U.S. dollars is completely absurd! Bessent is not just saying it is a program that went bad, he is saying the program shouldn't exist at all!

While Bessent leaves room to be desired from liberty conservatives, this is a positive mark on his tenure. Considering Bessent's past as a financial partner for George Soros, the Grassroots must remain skeptical while acknowledging how correct Bessent is on Somali remittances.
