Former Minnesota Congressman, RINO John Kline, officially endorsed another RINO, state Senator Eric Pratt (SD54), for the open Congress seat in CD2. See below:

Kline became a career politician who used his time in Congress to grow government, support amnesty for illegal aliens, cut deals with Barack Obama & John Boehner, vote with Dems to spend $2B on failed ‘cash for clunkers’ program, vote to raise the national debt, vote for warrantless NSA mass surveillance, and voted for corporate welfare like the $700B Wall Street Bailout and increasing the U.S. Export-Import Bank’s lending cap from $100B to $140B (allowing increases to the national debt under Obama). On many of these votes and more, Kline voted the same as radical leftists like Tim Walz and Keith Ellison.
Longtime Republican activists tell A4L that a conservative activist was gathering signatures from delegates at a CD2 convention on documents demanding John Kline vote more conservative and when Kline was presented with this paper, he threw the stack of papers in the trash (containing the signatures of delegates) before walking on stage.
Is this the kind of person that RINO Eric Pratt wants supporting him? Is that what CD2 Republicans want to return to?
Eric Pratt has his own big government, anti-liberty record as state Senator. This includes voting for a pro-transgender/boys in girls locker rooms “Equal Rights” Amendment, a bill that outlaws discrimination on the basis of hair, bailing out Minneapolis, firing non-union oil refinery workers, criminalizing the creation/sharing of AI memes of politicians, and all kinds of other unconstitutional omnibus bills.
The CD2 GOP contest will be another test for the liberty grassroots base in this district that has become increasingly powerful in the inner-party leadership battles and endorsements. Running against Eric Pratt is U.S. Marine Corp Reserve officer Tyler Kistner.
During the 2012 Ron Paul Revolution 2014, and 2016 election cycles, tea party conservative David Gerson challenged John Kline and reinvigorated the liberty base in CD2. When Kline decided not to seek reelection in 2016, conservative radio broadcaster Jason Lewis defeated Kline’s hand-picked replacement, Darlene Miller. In 2020 and 2022, Tyler Kistner defeated other challengers with the support of the grassroots base and kept narrow margins in the general election losses to incumbent Angie Craig. In 2024, CD2 conservative delegates endorsed Tayler Rahm in a landslide and Tom Emmer puppet Joe Teirab refused to withdraw despite previous pledges to abide by the endorsement. Emmer then weaponized the Trump campaign to get Rahm to quit the race and abandon his supporters, leaving the district with only one Republican with an active campaign. Despite becoming the nominee, the CD2 GOP refused to endorse Teirab and he went on to give Democrats their biggest margin of victory (13.4%) in the Congressional District since 1998.
With all of the history in mind, the majority CD2 GOP delegates and activists do not appear to be desiring a spineless “moderate” who capitulates to the left. It is also worth noting that the NRSC Exec. Director said that candidates cannot be installed without the support of the grassroots. After witnessing Globalist RINO Tom Emmer fail in his quest to install Teirab, the NRSC advice may guide the thinking of many delegates. As shown in recent history for CD2, a weak Republican who does not have the support of the base behind them will lose by big margins while a strong conservative gives the base something to vote for.
Midterm elections are always decided by turn-out. If conservative citizens feel their priorities won’t be represented by a RINO candidate, they will not come out to vote and the Democrats will win. If the conservative base feels represented, more voters will show up to vote. The logic behind electing liberal Republicans has collapsed as they become electoral liabilities instead of a competitive advantage.
CD2 will be a closely watched election nationally and Action 4 Liberty has remained the leading voice for grassroots conservatives in Minnesota (as the Star Tribune is becoming increasingly aware of). As seen in our previous reporting, Kistner has launched attacks against Pratt for his anti-Trump history as has Laura Loomer. A4L will continue to be the megaphone for Constitutionalist, liberty conservative movement in our state.
