Minnesota politics has been the focus of the nation and A4L has kept politicians’ feet to the fire by demanding they pledge to support the STRONGEST piece of legislation to stop unilateral lockdowns like Tim Walz did for Covid from ever happening again: The Never Again Bill (HF26).
A4L President Erik Mortensen championed this bill in the State House during the height of Covid tyranny under Tim Walz and it remains a top priority for grassroots conservatives across the state. The closure of churches, schools, businesses, and everyday society combined with mask/vax mandates was arguably the worst infringement on Minnesotans’ natural, God-given rights in the state’s history. The bill remains active in the Legislature with Sen. Nathan Wesenberg (SD10) and Rep. Drew Roach (58B) as the chief authors.
The Never Again pledge became a way for voters to know which candidates would terminate the Governor’s unilateral Emergency Power authority and which power-hungry, Uniparty swamp-creatures would stand in the way of that legislative priority.
While the Governor race has dwindled in recent months, at least 11 GOP candidates remain. Of those candidates, four have signed onto the Never Again Pledge: My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell, minister John Krhin, Catholic school/church administrator Phillip Parrish, and conservative activist Raul Estrada.

Each of the candidates shown above fought Covid tyranny during the thick of it and have come out the other side demanding freedom! Lindell, Krhin, Parrish, and Estrada have planted their flags and made it known that they care more about YOUR freedom than THEIR power! Estrada called out Covid corruption on social media and Parrish has written extensively on the topic. As the most well-known name on that list, Mike Lindell made major waves by signing the Pledge live at A4L's Christmas Party which making it clear that he is running an anti-establishment campaign like the three others mentioned. Minister John Krhin even kept his church open during lockdowns and wouldn't allow his congregation to have their Right to Worship trampled on by Tim Walz.
Five GOP candidates have refused to sign the pledge, signaling to voters that they will not actually fight to restore our God-given, Constitutional Rights. Those five include: House Speaker Lisa Demuth, Rep. Peggy Bennett, businessman Patrick Knight, Rep. Kristin Robbins, and Kendall Qualls. In addition to refusing to sign the pledge, Reps Bennett, Demuth, and Robbins have all voted AGAINST the Never Again Bill on the House floor and instead pushed Robbins’ weak, fake version of the bill.

Two other Republican candidates, Ross Nova and Lee Wickboldt, have filed and were requested by A4L to sign the pledge by an upcoming deadline. Wickboldt refused to sign. Former UFC heavyweight fighter Brad Kohler has signed the Never Again Pledge but he is no longer seeking the GOP nomination and is instead running for Governor as an Independent.
Beyond the Governor, the elected statewide positions sit on the Executive Council and vote on Executive Orders made by the Governor. With this role, A4L expanded the Never Again Pledge to encompass the Auditor, SOS, and AG races as well.
In the State Auditor race, only Braham Mayor Nate George has signed onto the pledge. Meanwhile, his GOP opponents Elliott Engen and Scott Jensen refuse to stand with grassroots conservatives on this pivotal issue. While Jensen has made his opposition to Democrat Covid policies a centerpoint of his campaigns, he will not take the necessary step of supporting legislation that can prevent it from ever happening again. Like some of the RINO Governor candidates, Elliott Engen voted AGAINST the Never Again Bill on the House floor to support Robbins’ weak, fake version of the bill instead. As the only signer of the Pledge for Auditor candidates, Nate George is making sure to differentiate himself.

The Secretary of State race features two Republicans running, former Judge Tad Jude and businesswoman/former CD1 MNGOP Executive Committeewoman Wendy Phillips, and both have signed A4L’s Never Again Pledge. As an active participant in the fight against lockdowns and mandates, Wendy Phillips has likely built some good-will with on-the-ground conservatives.

The Attorney General race only has one Republican filed. Mega-donor and former Tim Pawlenty presidential campaign chair Ron Schutz. While conservatives would hope that a candidate seeking the chief legal position of Minnesota would be prepared to stand up for our Constitutional liberties, Schutz has refused to sign the Never Again Pledge. Action 4 Liberty would love to update our reporting if Schutz decides to change his mind.

Democrats have made it clear that when they control the government, they do whatever they want and trample our liberties. Republican candidates that refuse to take bold action expose themselves as weak, Uniparty, Establishment, pro-big government RINOs.
As seen in the top navigation tab of our website, we have updated lists for signers and refusers for the Governor race and the other statewide offices.
The Never Again Pledge remains the tool and litmus test of grassroots conservatives. Politicians will always try to say the right thing and make you think that they align with your interests. A4L puts that to the test, creates needed differentiation, and informs We The People where these politicians actually stand. A4L will continue leading the charge and will never waiver in our mission to protect liberty for the next generation.
