Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL) has made it obvious that they do not actually care about the issue of life for years due to their protection of RINOs like Lisa Demuth who have voted for taxpayer-funded abortions. They’ve gone even further to discredit themselves by attacking Senator Nathan Wesenberg (SD10) for co-sponsoring a pro-life bill (SF5225/HF5084)originally written by Rep Ben Davis (6A).
Now, MCCL is campaigning for Wesenberg’s liberal primary opponent on issues other than abortion! There is deep irony in the fact that MCCL is a fraudulent group and is diverging from their singular issue to talk about fraud. See below:
RINO Deb Holthaus has been labeled by former colleagues of being a secret Democrat who supports abortion. Holthaus has been caught wearing leftist Ruth Bader Ginsburg apparel and has been censured by the Morrison County GOP. Holthaus filed on the last day of the filing period and did not compete for the endorsement.
For MCCL to pivot away from the issue of life for the issue of fraud, it shows they are not driven singularly by their group’s supposed mission to protect "human life from conception until natural death". Donors may or may not know that their dollars were not spent to support the pro-life cause, instead it is being spent to try to take out Minnesota’s most pro-life Senator with messaging totally unrelated to life. As seen in previous A4L reporting, MCCL has lost donors due to their dishonest attacks.
MCCL transferred $30,000 into their political fund on Monday, August 3rd. It remains to be seen how much they spend in their deceptive pursuit to oust Nathan Wesenberg. A4L has also been told by locals that MCCL sent a mailer in support of RINO Paul Utke in Senate District 5 as he runs against GOP-endorsed Mike Wiener. See $30K transfer below:
Senate District 10 is one of, if not the most conservative Senate districts in Minnesota. Of all MN counties in 2024, Trump received his highest percentage of votes from Morrison County, which is almost completely within SD10. In 2022, Wesenberg was elected with over 72% of the vote. These stats make it difficult for MCCL to try to install an unknown leftist against a state senator who has a proven conservative voting record.
MCCL’s executive director is RINO Michelle Fischbach’s husband, Scott Fischbach. The attacks against Wesenberg likely stems from Wesenberg’s support of two challengers in CD7 against Michelle Fischbach: Steve Boyd in 2024 and Dave Hughes in 2026. Since Wesenberg backed conservative alternatives to Fischbach, the RINOs want to punish him.
Beyond Nathan Wesenberg, MCCL has been called out by Lt. Governor candidate Phillip Parrish and Republican legislators including Sen. Bill Lieske (SD58), Sen. Michael Holmstrom (SD29), Rep. Ben Davis (6A), Rep. Drew Roach (58B), Rep. Pam Altendorf (20A), Rep. Tom Murphy (9B), and state senate candidate/former Rep. Jeremy Munson.
