In straw poll after straw poll at BPOU and Congressional District conventions, corrupt David Hann has fallen flat on his face with 0% of support. It is no surprise that conservatives want nothing to do with Hann after A4L exposed that Hann secretly paid a Kamala supporter with MNGOP funds. Ahead of the MNGOP state convention where the US Senate endorsement will be decided, Hann has ended his embarrassing, scam campaign.

David Hann says in his statement that he is “humbled” by the support his campaign has received. Who wouldn’t be humbled receiving zero votes across the state? See below:

Unlike other candidates, Hann has been visibly absent at Republican events around the state. His campaign was more of a ghost of the past than a legitimate movement.

Hann was never a serious candidate and ran because he was desperate for attention. David Hann was humiliated after A4L supporters and grassroots conservatives removed him as MNGOP Chair. While in that role, Hann was extremely divisive, soft on liberals, and biased against real conservatives. Also as Chair, Hann cut off data access to various endorsed Republican legislative candidates who happened to be running against RINO/Establishment/incumbent politicians and kept the party buried in debt until President Trump bailed the party out.

A party chair is supposed to remain neutral ahead of the party endorsement and support the endorsed candidate through the primary. Interestingly, as a US Senate candidate, David Hann was REFUSING to abide by the upcoming US Senate endorsement! He has no respect for Republican delegates!

Hann’s campaign appears to have been a scam all along since he was not even scheduled to speak at the MNGOP convention. Current MNGOP Chair, Alex Plechash, has made the desperate and greedy move of forcing candidates to pay at least $5K in order to be able to address the convention delegates! While a bogus rule like this should never exist, Hann’s refusal to pay proved he was not a serious candidate.

One of the only people to benefit from Hann’s fake campaign was his crooked confidant, former MNGOP Executive Director Anna Mathews. As seen in Hann’s FEC termination report, Matthews collected over $3,500. All three payments listed for Matthews state they were for “Travel Reimbursements” and/or “Mileage”. Though the description for the biggest disbursement to Mathews states to view Itemizations, that page on the FEC website gives no additional information on the spending. It is unknown if this spending was on legitimate campaign purposes. Additionally, Mathews received the payments on 4/21/26 and 4/24/26, just days before Hann ended his candidacy.

Hann may have worked out a deal to drop out with someone like Michele Tafoya as she is the candidate that RINOs have consolidated around. While there is ideological alignment between the two as longtime Trump haters and supporters of late term abortion (despite Tafoya's rebranding), Hann brings little to no support to the table and would be yet another detriment to Tafoya’s candidacy if connected publicly.
