Campaign Finance Reports HIDDEN Ahead of State Conventions

A government that is not transparent with its citizens will always lead to corruption. In Minnesota, we see this kind of corruption too often. With the Republican and Democratic state conventions taking place this weekend (GOP in Duluth and Dems in Rochester), all campaign finance reports are HIDDEN and unavailable to be viewed.

The state convention is a critical time period in which delegates, alternates, and others begin to closely examine candidates. Most people live normal lives and are not digging into campaign finance reports every day but they are much more likely to when conventions or elections are upcoming. Despite this, the Campaign Finance Board (CFB) has pulled all reports off of their website and it is unknown when they will return.

The reports were all taken down due to a bill passed in the legislature (HF4239) that required the addresses of donors be removed from all campaign finance reports, including reports from years past. The bill further required that the CFB take down the addresses immediately following its enactment, which just so happens to be when the State Conventions are.

Was the law designed to INTENTIONALLY block campaign finance reports ahead of the state conventions?

The Establishment is benefitted by secrecy and their choice to remove all of the reports and redo them during an election year, in the swing of the election, is awfully convenient for the Swamp…

Voters want to know about the out-of-state billionaire Richard Uihlein bankrolling the “Restore Sanity” political action committee (PAC) that is supporting Lisa Demuth. The deceptive material, mailers, and ads distributed by this PAC paints Demuth out to be an America First conservative when that is the furthest thing from the truth! Demuth voted for EVERY SINGLE bill signed into law by Tim Walz in 2025 and 2026, that is not conservative!

Keep in mind, Lisa Demuth is the Speaker of the MN House and ensured it would be passed with a scheduled floor vote! She bears more responsibility than any other Republican who voted for this mess.

Minnesota should not be left in the dark at critical electoral moments

Luckily, Action 4 Liberty has already reported on the CFB filings which can be seen here or by clicking below:

A4L became aware of this issue while researching Kendall Qualls’ CFB reports in relation to accusations raised by former MN Senate President and former Qualls campaign surrogate, RINO Dave Osmek. This issue is discussed in more detail in our previous reporting.

While the Establishment would argue that this policy should be done, they have ZERO excuse for scheduling this during this critical time period. Whether a donor’s address should be listed is NOT the issue, the issue is that we cannot view ANY report at all right now!

The only disinfectant for corrupt politics is transparency. Sunlight exposes darkness and MN politicians have made that impossible. This was passed with a 46-21 vote in the Senate and a 118-15 vote in the House. All of the votes in opposition were cast by Republicans. See votes below:

Action 4 Liberty will continue fighting corruption and demanding transparency. Minnesotans deserve to know the individuals and special interests bankrolling campaigns. We will continue providing Patriots with liberty-based reporting that cannot be found anywhere else.

MNGOP State Convention Preview: High Stakes and High Prices

The MNGOP state convention is taking place this weekend in Duluth and this event will determine who receives the official party endorsement for the offices of U.S. Senate, Governor & Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, and State Auditor. While the endorsement does not guarantee a candidate the GOP nomination, endorsed candidates typically win the primary. This year, Republicans expect a fiery event that pits Establishment RINOs against candidates supported by grassroots conservatives.

High Prices

Some grassroots conservatives have chosen not to attend this year’s convention due to the party price gouging delegates, alternates, vendors, and guests. Despite inflation, high taxes, and high costs stretching average Minnesotans thin, MNGOP chair Alex Plechash has chosen to charge attendees more than they have paid for any previous state convention. A4L has largely put this issue to the side to avoid depressing turnout but it is an unfortunate truth we must accept. Excluding hotel, food, and travel costs, Plechash is demanding $200-$240 from delegates and alternates just to have the ability to vote.

Despite receiving pushback from multiple wings of the party, Plechash has continued his pursuit of turning the state convention into the party’s big cash-grab. To make matters worse, the party is also demanding at least $5,000 for a candidate to be given the chance to speak! In a pay-to-play move by the MNGOP, a candidate must purchase a $5K or $10K campaign suite in order to give their speech at the convention. Statewide Republican candidates already face an uphill battle in Minnesota without Plechash fleecing them!

Electronic voting clickers

Another issue that is sure to be discussed will be the party’s use of rented electronic clickers, costing the party somewhere around $40K to rent. Considering the grassroots’ issues with electronic voting and fiscal responsibility, many delegates may not be pleased to be using such equipment. While the party has given assurances that the results will secure and auditable, some Republicans (likely including Mike Lindell supporters) will remain skeptical.

Governor Race

The largest focal point of the convention will be the Governor and Lt. Governor races. Three candidates have emerged as frontrunners thus far including Mike Lindell, Kendall Qualls, and RINO Speaker Lisa Demuth. Qualls and Demuth have both announced Lt. Governor selections and Lindell is yet to announce his running mate. Demuth has the baggage of voting to fund fraud and voting for every single bill signed into law by Tim Walz in 2025 and 2026. While many see Ryan Wilson’s addition to Demuth’s ticket as one of her only good qualities, Kendall Qualls has ended up in a different position with his running mate.

Qualls’ #2, modular home businessman Brian Nicholson, has recently faced scrutiny after largely being unknown. On the AM 1280 radio station, former MN Senate President and former Qualls surrogate, RINO David Osmek, went on the attack against Qualls and Nicholson on a variety of subjects, including a civil court case in which Nicholson is a defendant. Osmek stated that the lawsuit alleges Nicholson used company funds for personal uses and asked for fraudulent loan documents to be submitted.

Osmek also argued that Qualls is wasting 2/3rds of his campaign funds on consultants. A4L began reading Qualls’ CFB reports to verify this and in the midst of this research, the CFB pulled all campaign finance reports to take off the addresses of donors. As of this article’s publishing, Minnesotans are still unable to see the CFB reports for candidates. From what was seen, it was clear that Qualls has spent hundreds of thousands on campaign consultants. Qualls and Nicholson made a video on X but kept their response to

Several other GOP Governor candidates will compete for the endorsement including businessman Patrick Knight, Assemblies of God pastor John Krhin, and State Representative Peggy Bennett. While each has not yet received major traction for their candidacies, John Krhin has made it clear that he stands with grassroots conservatives by rocking an Action 4 Liberty t-shirt in campaign literature. See below:

Sources tell A4L that candidate Phil Parrish will also be listed on the ballot for Governor at the convention but refused to pay the $5K speaking fee. Candidate Raul Estrada and his running mate, Joe Kincaid (Joe Liberty), have selected to not attend the convention and are running straight to the primary due to concerns with the MNGOP and a preference to compete for the support of the broader GOP electorate.

Candidates Mike Lindell, Kendall Qualls, John Krhin, Phil Parrish, and Raul Estrada have all signed A4L’s Never Again Pledge, proving they will fight to shrink government, limit their own power, and prevent tyrannical lockdowns from happening ever again.

U.S. Senate Race

The U.S. Senate GOP race is crowded with several candidates seeking the nomination. This includes 2024 GOP nominee Royce White, Navy Seal Adam Schwarze, leftist Michele Tafoya, former White House fellow Mark York, Navy veteran Tom Weiler, and Alycia Gruenhagen, Several other candidates have also filed campaign paperwork but the listed names are the individuals expected to seek the party endorsement. If interested in learning more about each of the candidates, read previous A4L reporting here.

Secretary of State Race

Three Republicans are running for the MNGOP endorsement for the office of Secretary of State including former CD1 MNGOP Exec. Committeewoman Wendy Phillips, former Judge Tad Jude, and activist Dave Meissner. Both Phillips and Jude have signed A4L’s Never Again Pledge while Meissner has refused. All three candidates are listed on the MNGOP website as candidates who have pledged to abide by the party endorsement. Jude is coming off of three recent political losses: CD3, Hennepin Co. Attorney, and Attorney General. While Jude’s experience has garnered him support, it has also made some delegates feel his time is past. Wendy Phillips began fighting for election integrity issues during the 2020 Stop The Steal movement and recently received Mike Lindell’s endorsement. Phillips also stood up for Otter Tail delegates when they were disenfranchised by then-MNGOP Chair, corrupt David Hann, and was ousted from her party position by the Establishment for doing the right thing.

State Auditor Race

Three candidates are seemingly in the GOP nomination battle for the State Auditor position including Braham Mayor Nate George, 2022 Governor nominee Scott Jensen, and DWI Elliott Engen. Engen has not campaigned since his DWI but has also not dropped out. A4L is told that Engen did not pay the speaking fee or collect the 50 signatures needed to compete for the endorsement at the state convention. Jensen initially was running for Governor again but was facing abysmal levels of support so he has chosen a lesser office and is hoping he can win on name ID. On the other hand, Nate George has created a fraud risk score that he plans on implementing if elected and is the only Auditor candidate who has signed A4L’s Never Again Pledge.

Attorney General Race

Only one candidate, Ron Schutz, is seeking the MNGOP endorsement for Attorney General. Schutz is a wealthy attorney who has made donations to many Republicans and RINOs. Schutz has refused to sign A4L’s Never Again Pledge.

Democrat Convention

Minnesota Democrats will be holding their state convention on the same days as the MNGOP, except their convention will be held in Rochester. The fee for delegates and alternates is about half of what the MNGOP is charging. While Klobuchar does have several Democratic opponents, none have mounted a serious campaign thus far. While several of the races are not contested, the U.S. Senate and State Auditor races will show where splinters occur in the party. Fake moderate Angie Craig has lost massive support in the party and is expected to lose BIGLY to lunatic leftist Peggy Flanagan. Democrats continually move toward socialism, big government, and wasting tax dollars on fraud so it should be expected that their future State Auditor candidate will do more to cover up fraud than to expose it. UPDATE:  Since publishing, Angie Craig has withdrawn from the endorsement process, which she was expected to lose handedly.

Uniparty Gives MN $1.24B in Debt, Full Details Here

Minnesota RINOs are the worst negotiators on the planet. Despite Republicans controlling the State House, Democrats continue to get their way. MN residents made it clear that high taxes, including the costly vehicle tab fee, must be reduced. RINOs gave Minnesota the tab fee reduction BUT it comes at a cost: It was attached to a bloated bonding bill (HF719) that gives us $1.24B of debt, $46.5M in project spending, and spending $254M of surplus dollars to cover for a one year tab fee reduction.

$254M may sound like a lot but it is only covering for a 0.29% cut in tab fees! That is totally pathetic. With 5.5 million registered vehicles in MN, that will be a drop in the bucket. You could find better deals in a junk mail coupon book than the deals Demuth negotiates with Democrats.

The high vehicle tab fee had to be addressed but leave it to RINOs to attach all kinds of wasteful pork to it! Taxpayers do not want to see our state given over one billion dollars in debt! Taxpayers do not want to have their surplus dollars wasted. Taxpayers are sick of the bloated omnibus bills that hide all kinds of fraud, woke policy, and wasteful spending. Despite the grassroots opposition, RINO Mary Franson championed this insane debt bill.

While grassroots conservatives wouldn’t think twice in rejecting the bloated $1.24B debt bill, the vast majority of elected Republicans fell in line with the Establishment and voted with Democrats for the massive debt! There are 99 GOP state legislators in Minnesota and only 18 voted no! This includes 7 in the Senate and 11 in the House.

See Senate vote below:

See House vote below:

As seen above, all Democrats voted for the massive debt. The fiscally conservative position was a no vote. State Auditor candidate and drunk driver Elliott Engen left his constituents voiceless by not taking a vote at all.

This bill was NOT a simple reduction of the tab fee, they took away $254M from the general fund to do this and the tab fee reduction only lasts a year! They are robbing taxpayers but are conveniently leaving that part out. If they instead cut the cost permanently and forced the state government to absorb the cost, A4L would have no complaints!

To make matters worse, this bill could have been the GOP’s biggest tool for leverage. A bonding bill requires the support of 3/5ths of the legislature in both chambers which means that the GOP could withhold their votes unless they get something very substantial in return. This tab fee reduction is small potatoes and shows that the status quo continues with RINOs like Lisa Demuth in charge.

While some of the bonding measures are for good, neutral, or mundane projects, others are blatantly ridiculous. In one instance, there is $800K of debt to plant more trees around the Capitol building! They are also giving the woke U of M $75M of debt, the broken Met Council gets over $57.8M of debt, an immigrant-focused recreation center gets $1.5M of debt, and selected businesses are receiving government handouts.

Woke RINOs & Democrats Honor Fraud-Ridden Somali Community

On one of the final days of the legislative session, MN House RINOs partnered with Democrats on a woke resolution honoring the fraud-ridden Somali community. While grassroots conservatives are opposed to mass migration of third-world refugees and are sick of seeing their tax dollars funneled to fraudsters, RINOs proved yet again that they are in lockstep with the radical left, globalist, Great Replacement Theory agenda.

RINOs Ben Bakeberg (54B), Dave Baker (16B), Patti Mueller (23B), Andrew Myers (45A), and Paul Torkelson (15B) all stood up to read the resolution aloud and had nothing but praise for a racial group that has generally been unwilling to assimilate to American culture. It has become clear that the vast majority of Somalis have no interest in maintaining our Constitution, societal norms, and way of life. While a minority of Somalis have embraced American principles, the vast majority have not.

Imagine what would be said if a resolution was championed in the House if it exclusively complimented white people. It would be seen on its face as ridiculous.

Some of the woke talk included Mueller arguing that Somalis “enrich local and state culture”, Myers arguing that Somalis advocate for “equity and justice” and enhance “democracy and public service in this state”, and Bakeberg saying MN has to respect the “dignity of all MN residents” (which would include illegal aliens). RINO Speaker Lisa Demuth also led the body to give a standing ovation to a Somali national, Mohamed Abdirizak Mohamud, following the resolution being read aloud. See below:

Mohamed Abdirizak Mohamud is the former Minister of Foreign Affairs for Somalia and has publicly worked with Ilhan Omar to funnel more of our tax dollars to Somalia. Even if Mohamud is a good-faith actor fighting corruption and terrorism in Somalia's government, it is not the United States' responsibility to nation build with hard-earned tax dollars.

RINOs who are afraid to admit that the Somali community has done more harm than good to Minnesota will never end our state’s fraud epidemic. Sucking up to a racial group that supports Sharia Law will not cause them to moderate their views, it shows that weak politicians are celebrating the decline of our nation.

Unfortunately, the Uniparty continued their woke identity politics with another resolution on the following day to recognize May as American Indian Month. Instead of dealing with serious issues affecting Minnesotans like high taxes, billions in fraud, or unfair regulations, RINOs just want to virtue signal to a group that will never vote for them.

Of the 5 RINOs mentioned who read the resolution, only Torkelson is retiring from the legislature. Baker, Mueller, and Myers are running for reelection and Bakeberg is running for the state Senate.

Action 4 Liberty will continue to stand for common sense and against woke identity politics. Democrats and RINOs who prioritize Somali migrants over average Minnesotans are America Last politicians that are destroying Minnesota. A4L will continue providing Patriots with liberty-based reporting that cannot be found anywhere else.

RINO Michele Tafoya Hypocritically Attacks Adam Schwarze

The race to replace worthless U.S. Senator Tina Smith is underway with the MNGOP and Democrat endorsing conventions quickly approaching. While Democrats will choose between radical leftist Peggy Flanagan, fake moderate Angie Craig, and lesser known Democrat Billy Nord, the MNGOP has numerous candidates running. Among those candidates is the RINO Establishment’s hand-picked choice, anti-Trump Michele Tafoya.

Despite being a known anti-Trump RINO, Tafoya launched an attack ad against another GOP candidate, Adam Schwarze, hypocritically labeling him as an anti-Trump donor! See below:

This line of attack is particularly ironic for Tafoya because she has made her anti-Trump views known for years. Now that she is running for U.S. Senate and President Trump has retaken the White House, Tafoya is pretending to be MAGA all the way! As seen below, she was advocating for Neo-Con Nikki Haley to continue her pointless campaign against Trump:

Tafoya has even DELETED an article she wrote demanding that Trump drop out and allow a RINO like Nikki Haley to be the candidate instead. Unfortunately for Tafoya, the article has been captured on the internet archiving Wayback Machine and can be seen in full below:

As seen in previous A4L reporting, we have covered Schwarze’s previous donation to Nikki Haley. Schwarze appeared on The Truth Hurts show and explained that his girlfriend’s family was supportive of Nikki which caused him to make the donation and appear on Nikki Haley’s list of MN campaign team. As explained on the show, Schwarze says he did not watch the GOP primary debates, was not very familiar with Haley’s views, and did not know his name being listed would appear as an endorsement. While some MAGA voters remain skeptical of Schwarze due to this donation, he argues that voters should judge him for his own views and not the views of Nikki Haley.

As far as the Klobuchar donation is concerned, Schwarze says he donated $10 to her in order to join her mailing list. This was done during Klobuchar’s failed Presidential campaign. Keeping tabs on radical Democrats like Amy Klobuchar is worthwhile for MN citizens so many conservatives may understand why Schwarze made the small donation.

Tafoya has no room to judge considering she has donated to RINOs like Lindsey Graham, Liz Cheney, and Mitt Romney! Most would not find these donations since she uses her married name, Vandersall, instead of Tafoya when making donations. These donations can be seen here.

Schwarze is considered the leading candidate for the GOP endorsement for U.S. Senate as he has been winning straw polls across the state. As a Marine and Navy Seal veteran who can give a strong stump speech, many Republican delegates have seen Schwarze as a viable general election candidate. Schwarze has contrasted his pro-life positions with Michele Tafoya’s pro-abortion positions and that differentiation may be what put Schwarze over the finish line at the convention.

A website highlighting Tafoya’s leftist views including her anti-Trump, pro-abortion, and anti-2nd Amendment positions. Click image below to visit realtafoya.com:

Tafoya is refusing to abide by the party endorsement and will continue to the primary regardless of the convention’s results. On the other hand, Schwarze has pledged to abide by the party endorsement.

Schwarze and Tafoya are joined in the race for the GOP nomination 2024 GOP U.S. Senate nominee Royce White, former White House fellow Mark York, Navy veteran Tom Weiler, Army veteran Chris Brooks, truck driver Ray Petersen, food co-op manager Alycia Gruenhagen, and businessman Mike Ruoho.

Tafoya has the endorsement of RINO Tim Scott and the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC). Schwarze has the endorsement of Montana U.S. Senator Tim Sheehy, Virginia Congressman John McGuire, and Law Enforcement Today. Royce White is endorsed by former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz, incoming US Ambassador to Jamaica Kari Lake, My Pillow CEO and Governor candidate Mike Lindell, Moms for America Minnesota, and others. As seen in previous A4L reporting, MNGOP Chair Alex Plechash has unfairly propped up Tafoya on social media.

Correction; Fraud-Ridden Spending Even Worse Than We Originally Reported

Big government spending is out of control in Minnesota and it is well known that billions upon billions in tax dollars are being funneled to Somali fraudsters. Action 4 Liberty has kept the public informed as politicians waste away our tax dollars but has a correction to make on our previous reporting

In our recent story, we highlighted the massive Human Services spending for fraud-ridden programs that Democrats and RINOs passed in the House. We highlighted a cost of around $700M but have since realized that it is EVEN WORSE! This bill actually spends over $1.4 Billion on certain fraud-ridden Human services program!

The bill, (HF4546), increases spending by over $739.6M for this year and over $775M next year! We thought it was bad before but now we know things are TWICE AS BAD as we previously reported!

While there are other cuts in the bill that totals about $81.6M, that is a drop in the bucket of the $1.4 Billion in increased spending!

Under the “leadership” of Lisa Demuth as Speaker of the MN House, the status quo of fraud has been maintained. She has voted for EVERY SINGLE bill signed into law by Tim Walz last year (budget year) and this year. Instead of holding the Walz/Ellison fraud regime accountable, Demuth led the RINOs to bail out these wasteful programs that will overspending their allotted budget.

After the House vote to give DHS more money for fraud-ridden programs, Lisa Demuth proved her hypocrisy by complaining about the fraud that DHS is funding. When will all of Minnesota realize that she is a total fraud?!? See below:

Anti-Freedom Uniparty Bans Predictive Betting Markets

Corrupt, tyrannical politicians think they know how you should spend your money better than you. The problem of big government is not just a Democrat problem; This is a Uniparty problem. On Tuesday, May 12th, the Minnesota House and Senate passed legislation that banned predictive betting markets.

The legislation, SF4760, is a multi-subject, 111 page, unconstitutional public safety policy omnibus bill that contains all kinds of provisions covering various subjects. Some of these provisions were neutral and mundane, some were good law, and some were big government nonsense. As we will focus on in this piece, this bill bans the ability for individuals to spend their own money as they see fit.

Websites like Kalshi, PredictIt, and Polymarket have become popular ways for individuals to put their money where their mouth is and bet on various happenings in sports, society, and politics. Interestingly, these websites are often more reliable than mainstream media polling since individuals are incentivized to accurately predict elections and events.

The vast majority of individuals who use predictive betting market websites are not doing so with an intent to gamble for a living. Instead, they are using their personal knowledge as a means to make some cash on the side. Minnesota citizens are not the children of the government, we do not need the permission of corrupt politicians to participate in consensual financial activity!

It is clear that Democrats and RINOs are interested in protecting the special interests of American Indian casinos and do not want to allow any competition. Our state prioritizes one racial group over all others on gambling issues, purely on the basis of race.

Zero Democrats voted to oppose this unconstitutional, anti-freedom omnibus bills. The only Republican author on this bill was RINO Paul Novotny (30B).

While Democrats make their subservience to American Indian special interests extremely obvious with cringe-worthy “land acknowledgements”, Republicans are also controlled by these casino special interests! As seen in the House Republican Campaign Committee (HRCC) 2025 campaign finance report, they received $100,000 from the Prairie Island Indian Communities PAC and $85,000 from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux! See below:

RINOs are not going to fight for your interests when they are paid $185,000 to do otherwise!

In the House, nearly half of the Republican members voted against the unconstitutional omnibus bill. 34 voted for the bill, 32 voted no, and Marion Rarick (29B) abstained and was excused from part of the session. See vote below:

In the Senate, only 9 Republicans voted against this unconstitutional omnibus bill. See vote below:

Ironically, one of the crony politicians who was fighting to ban predictive betting markets was betting on himself on a predictive betting market! Democrat Senator Matt Klein (SD53) wants to strip the financial freedom of Minnesotans while he bet $50 on Kalshi that he would win the CD2 Democratic nomination. Klein was leading the market for a few days surrounding April 18-21 but dropped significantly after it was exposed that he bet on himself and after he lost the CD2 Democratic endorsement. Of course, Klein should be able to bet on himself winning and he should not feel entitled to strip the financial freedom of Minnesotans.

On the bright side, this bill is blatantly illegal and unenforceable. Predictive betting markets are governed federally by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and prohibitive state laws will be defeated in court. Unfortunately, this bill will cause radical socialist AG Keith Ellison to waste more tax dollars pursuing frivolous litigation to protect this anti-freedom law.

As mentioned previously, zero Democrats voted against the bill. See the following RINO Senators who voted for the unconstitutional, anti-freedom omnibus bill: Jim Abeler (SD35), Julia Coleman (SD48), Gary Dahms (SD15), Gene Dornink (SD23), Rich Draheim (SD22), Rob Farnsworth (SD7), Steve Green (SD2), Keri Heintzeman (SD6), Karin Housley (SD33), Jeff Howe (SD13), John Jasinski (SD19), Mark Johnson (SD1), Mark Koran (SD28), Michael Kruen (SD32), Andrew Lang (SD16), Warren Limmer (SD37), Jeremy Miller (SD26), Carla Nelson (SD24), Eric Pratt (SD54), Jason Rarick (SD11), Jordan Rasmusson (SD9), Paul Utke (SD5), and Bill Weber (SD21).

See the following RINO Representatives that voted for the unconstitutional, anti-freedom omnibus bill: Lisa Demuth (13A), Paul Anderson (12A), Ben Bakeberg (54B), Dave Baker (16B), Greg Davids (26B), Bidal Duran (2A), Josh Heintzeman (6B), Spencer Igo (7A), Jon Koznick (57A), Ron Kresha (10A), Patti Mueler (23B), Andrew Myers (45A), Danny Nadeau (34A), Jim Nash (48A), Nathan Nelson (11B), Harry Niska (31A), Paul Novotny (30B), Tim O’Driscoll (13B), Bernie Perryman (14A), Duane Quam (24A), Aaron Repinski (26A), Kristin Robbins (37A), Joe Schomacker (21A), Erica Schwartz (18A), Peggy Scott (31B), Tom Sexton (19B), Roger Skraba (3A), Terry Stier (22B), Chris Swedzinski (15A), Paul Torkelson (15B), Cal Warwas (7B), Jeff Witte (57B), and Natalie Zeleznikar (3B).

20 House RINOs Vote to Spend $700M for Fraud-Ridden Programs

Minnesota’s government has become the perfect representation of waste, fraud, and abuse. Around $18 Billion in tax dollars has been lost to fraud in Minnesota thanks to Tim Walz, Keith Ellison, and legislators of both parties who refuse to hold them accountable. Instead of defunding fraud-ridden programs within the Dept. of Human Services, 20 House RINOs partnered with Democrats to spend even more money funding these programs!

The House debated a bill, HF4546, that made various adjustments to the appropriations made last year in budget bills for programs within the Dept. of Human Services (DHS) and the Dept. of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) based on the 2026 February MMB budget forecast. This bill only has Democrat authors in the House and Senate and it lacked a majority support from House GOP legislators. The full House floor debate for the bill can be viewed here.

This bill increases spending in DHS by over $739 Million for programs including General Assistance, Minnesota Supplemental Aid, Housing Support, MinnesotaCare, Medical Assistance, and Behavioral Health Fund. These socialist programs were ALREADY funded in the 2025 budget bills but are spending like drunk sailors and are going to run out of money!

While the bill does make about $45 Million in spending cuts for DCYF, the DHS appropriation means that they voted for roughly $684 Million in new spending

House Republicans could have played hard-ball and allowed a future partial state government shutdown! Republican legislators shouldn’t bail out Tim Walz’ crony bureaucrats demanding more tax dollars! Fraud is rampant but 20 House RINOs do not care if your money gets wasted. See House vote below:

As seen above, Speaker Lisa Demuth and 19 other RINOs voted to bail out Walz’ fraud regime! They argued they had no choice but to amend the budget and spend more of our tax dollars. This adds to the 2nd LARGEST budget in Minnesota history passed under Demuth in 2025.

As seen in the House floor debate, RINO Steve Gander (1B) argued that now is not the time to fight fraud! If now is not the time, when is?! According to Establishment RINOs, you should waste away tax dollars and THEN try to stop the fraud… Action 4 Liberty argues to stop fraud on the front end by not wasting our tax dollars in the first place!

A short-term shutdown of socialist hand-outs is a PERFECT way for the GOP to leverage their control of the State House but they instead choose to keep the fraud-ridden programs up and running.

Under Lisa Demuth’s reign as Speaker, Walz’ fraud regime gets all the tax dollars they want!

While most GOP members of the House Rules and Legislative Administration Committee voted against the legislation on the floor, there was no opposition in the committee when Democrat Jamie Long moved to place the bill on the House Floor Calendar. If the GOP would’ve voted as a block against the bill in committee, the Socialist bail out wouldn’t have even been given a floor vote!

Here are the 20 RINOs that voted to bail out Tim Walz’ Socialist, fraud-ridden programs: Keith Allen (19A), Jeff Backer (9A), Dave Baker (16B), Lisa Demuth (13A), Steve Gander (1B), Dawn Gillman (17A), Josh Heintzeman (6B), Spencer Igo (7A), Ron Kresha (10A), Danny Nadeau (34A), Paul Novotny (30B), Aaron Repinski (26A), Joe Schomacker (21A), Erica Schwartz (18A), Tom Sexton (19B), Roger Skraba (3A), Paul Torkelson (15B), Cal Warwas (7B), and Natalie Zeleznikar (3B).

RINOs Jim Nash (48A) and Andrew Myers (45A) joined 2-spirit lunatic Democrat Alycia Kozlowski (8B) in not voting at all.

Action 4 Liberty will continue to hold politicians' feet to the fire and will never waiver in our mission to protect liberty for the next generation. We must protect our tax dollars from the fraud-loving Walz regime and the GOP must be willing to play hard-ball in order to get that done. A4L will keep Patriots informed with liberty-based reporting that cannot be found anywhere else.

House Republicans Pass Omnibus Bill Expanding Free Healthcare for Refugees

It's another day in Minnesota which means it is another day RINOs will backstab their conservative base. The story repeats itself over and over again. Republicans squander the power they have and fall prey to the Uniparty’s liberal, big government demands. This was on full display in the Minnesota House on Thursday, May 7th as only two Republicans voted against a multi-subject and unconstitutional omnibus Health spending bill (SF4612) expanding free healthcare for refugees and other noncitizens.

That’s right - only TWO Republicans voted against this unconstitutional omnibus bill! See vote below:

The votes of Davis and Roach are interesting to compare with the votes of other Freedom Caucus members like Marj Fogleman (21B) and Mike Wiener (5B). Fogleman didn’t vote at all and Wiener voted with the RINOs! With Wiener having voted for this bill and refusing to vote up or down on gun control and advancing an anti-ICE bill, some conservatives are wondering if he should be stripped of his SD5 GOP endorsement for State Senate.

RINOs excused their votes because the bill also contained some conformity pieces of the Big Beautiful Bill signed into law by President Trump. Of course, there was other pork and big government policy tucked in the legislation.

As seen on pages 51 and 52 of SF4612, this bill clearly expands free healthcare (Medical Assistance) to more refugees/noncitizens! The taxpayer-funded healthcare coverage already covered Cuban and Haitian migrants but now MN and U.S. taxpayers would be on the hook to cover the costs for certain migrants from Micronesia, Marshall Islands, and Palau! While much of the federal conformity in the bill were good measures, the GOP could have punished fraud-loving Tim Walz and Keith Ellison by playing hard-ball and blocking the legislation.

If the bill did not pass, President Trump was going to withhold BILLIONS in tax dollars from Minnesota! With Minnesota being the Fraud Capital of the world, that may be EXACTLY what our state government needs to wake up! Minnesota should have Medicaid funds frozen when they are being funneled to Somali fraudsters instead of law-abiding Minnesotans!

As seen in the House floor debate, Rep. Ben Davis explained the issue with multi-subject omnibus bills then proposed an amendment so that federal conformity pieces of the legislation could be voted on separately from the rest of the bill. This failed due to a 67-67 party line vote.

Weak Republicans are the Democrats’ favorite opponents. Democrats always seem to win in Minnesota because Republicans never hold the line when our tax dollars or liberties are on the line.

Action 4 Liberty will never waiver in our mission to protect liberty for the next generation and will always prioritize the grassroots over RINO politicians. A4L will continue providing Patriots with liberty-based reporting that cannot be found anywhere else.

Rare Internal Democrat Spat Boils Over on MN Senate Floor; Dems Are Falling Apart

Typically, Democrats keep their disputes internal to provide a united front against Republicans. They are much better in Minnesota at sticking together and have passed a woke, radical, Socialist, far-left agenda by doing so. In the State Senate, they were able to pass this agenda with a one vote majority (which then included burglar Nicole Mitchell). Now the same Democrats who voted in lockstep are falling apart in the final weeks of the legislative session.

While some Democrats know deep down that they are taking bad votes that nobody wants, they take the vote anyway because they see it as the easiest path to maintaining power. Politicians know that if they buck the party line, the Establishment party leadership will come after them and support their primary opponent. This is something A4L President Erik Mortensen knows well because by fighting for liberty over the RINO interests, the RINOs tried (and failed three times) to fool Republican voters into nominating Boozin’ Bob Loonan over Erik Mortensen.

As seen throughout legislative sessions in MN, there is much more variety seen in how GOP legislators vote as opposed to how Democrats vote. Democrats seem to believe that if they help Republicans amend a bill, the Democrat bill author and caucus will block your bills and amendments. This operating procedure blew up today, notably between a heated exchange between two Democrats on the Senate floor!

Democrat Senators Ron Latz (SD46) and Susan Pha (SD38) were on separate sides of the issue on a piece of legislation and this led to personal attacks being launched each way! The bill, SF1750, altered regulations surrounding Home Owner Associations. While this bill would have normally resulted in a mundane floor debate, Latz and Pha implied that the other was a liar when considering whether to accept the House's amendments to the bill! This mostly took place following Pha's speech where she contended with Latz and Judy Seeberger's (SD41) opposition. See video HERE.

Latz was looking at the legislation with a careful microscope after decades of passing unconstitutional, multi-subject, thousand page omnibus bills! Where was Ron Latz in 2024 when Democrats combined multiple omnibus bills into the Omnibus-Prime legislation totally nearly 1,500 pages! It seems he only wants to be meticulous when it comes to protecting tyrannical Home Owner Associations!

One reason Latz and Pha may be willing to let their internal political disputes be seen in the public eye is that they have nothing to lose! They are both facing left-wing primary challenges and know their days in the Capitol may be numbered!

Ron Latz was first elected to the legislature 24 years ago in 2002 and is the son of a politician who also was in the legislature. He now faces a competitive primary challenge from St. Louis city councilmember Lynette Dumalag after neither were able to claim the local party endorsement. Latz is the Chairman of the powerful Senate Judiciary Committee and has been desperately pushing radical gun control to try to save his political career. Lynette Dumalag has a long list of endorsements, which even includes one of the Representatives in his district, radical leftist Larry Kraft (46A). Latz likely also suffers with Democrats due to his support for Israel. On the campaign finance front, Dumalag had roughly $24,883 cash on hand as of Dec. 31, 2025 and Latz had roughly $107,604 cash on hand as of the same date.

Like Ron Latz’ situation, Susan Pha is also not endorsed by the local party after neither she or her Democratic opponent, leftist activist Nehemiah Garley, could reach the 60% endorsement threshold. Garley had roughly $862 cash on hand as of Dec. 31, 2025 and Pha had roughly $838 cash on hand as of the same date. Garley appears to be supported by several legislators including one of the Representatives of the district, Huldah Momanyi-Hiltsley (38A). Following the convention Momanyi-Hiltsley posted a misleading congratulations on Facebook for Garley, making many readers think he is endorsed when he isn’t! See below:

In addition to the Latz/Pha spat, Democrats saw themselves divided on another floor fight. Democrat Nick Frentz (SD18) introduced an amendment that reduced nurse staffing regulations and adjusted various spending costs in the Human Services supplemental spending bill (SF4476) authored by Democrat John Hoffman (SD34). Hoffman refused to accept the amendment and a floor vote was forced. The amendment was ultimately adopted by a vote of 38-29. The deregulation portion of this amendment was good but it also increased refugee service grants by about half a million dollars. See vote below:

A strategic conservative would utilize and exploit the Democrats’ lack of unity to its fullest extent. Democrats have ram-rodded their radical agenda through and there is finally a chink in their armor! They are divided, in conflict, and weak! Now is the time for conservatives to strike!

The GOP controls the State House and can block more corrupt spending!

They can say NO to a bonding bill with over a billion dollars worth of debt for taxpayers. They can say NO to unconstitutional, multi-subject omnibus bills. They can say NO to demands from Walz and Ellison for more money. They can say NO to funding fraud. And they can say YES to repealing radical left laws, protecting tax dollars, defunding fraud, and giving the Democrats a taste of their own medicine!

Action 4 Liberty will remain the principled, grassroots conservative group leading the liberty movement in Minnesota. We will never waiver in our mission to protect liberty and will continue to provide Patriots with liberty-based reporting that cannot be found anywhere else.
