MN Supreme Court Protects Gun Rights in Surprise Ruling

Despite the Minnesota Supreme Court containing only Democrat-appointed Justices, a majority of Justices voted to protect gun rights in a ruling on Wednesday, August 6th. This decision was 4-2 with Chief Justice Natalie Hudson and former Tim Walz legal counsel Justice Karl Procaccini and the two dissenting votes and Justice Theodora K. Gaïtas did not participate in the case or vote.

The Supreme Court Opinion for the Minnesota v. Vagle case (case #: A23-0863) written by former MN Speaker of the House Justice Paul Thissen reversed a Court of Appeals ruling that improperly used MN Statute 609.667(subd. 3) to criminally prosecute individuals for possessing firearms that never had a serial number. Leftists prosecutors across MN, led by Socialist Attorney General ANTIFA Keith Ellison, have misused MN Statute 609.667 by disregarding the federal law cited within the statute. In doing so, they have considered anything from 3D printed guns to vintage firearms that pre-date serial number requirements.

This case win was celebrated by Minneapolis criminal defense attorney Thomas Gallagher who celebrated the decision on his website. In short, Gallagher also points to differences between NFA (National Firearms Act) and non-NFA firearms as a contribution toward their legal victory. The Supreme Court Opinion also lays out the legislative intent for this law, which was put into effect in 1994, and how the intent was not to criminalize gun possession of firearms that do not require serial numbers under federal law. On the other hand, ANTIFA Keith called the ruling concerning and admitted there was a “gap in state law”. That gap means that the law did not allow for the prosecutions he pushed.

This surprise decision comes as Minnesotans and Americans often see ‘Activist Judges’ who seek to diminish the Constitution and rule of law using ideological and political motives. Law should be applied plainly and must be adherent to the U.S. and MN Constitutions. This win signifies that far left elements of the Democrats like Keith Ellison have stepped too far out of line for regular establishment Democrats.

Another case (case #: 71-CR-22-923), in May 2022, a law-abiding then 22 year old named Matthew Walker Anderson was labeled a felon by prosecutors because he owned two rifles without serial numbers and was charged under the same statute the Supreme Court ruled on (609.667 subd. 3). His case is ongoing and he has refused plea deals. The Supreme Court decision sets an immediate precedent for all lower courts and should result in Anderson being cleared of his charge. Anderson’s mother has appeared on the Truth Hurts show twice to discuss the case and the recent Supreme Court victory

In Anderson’s case, he was charged in Sherburne County, highlighting that gun rights aren’t even safe in Republican areas sometimes. These charges have been supported by the Prosecutor's office and the Sheriff’s office in Sherburne County. The County Attorney where the charges originated, Kathleen Heaney, resigned earlier this year and the Commissioners appointed assistant county attorney Dawn Nyhus to replace her. At any time, Heaney or Nyhus could have stopped the misapplication statute and federal law and to drop Anderson of his charges but they failed to do so. Jennifer Lynn Clements is the lead prosecuting attorney according to court records. Sherburne County Sheriff, Joel Brott, also failed taken action to stop the weaponization of law despite previously speaking out against gun control. Sherburne County citizens should be looking more closely at the individuals they are electing to local office without competition.

Anderson is scheduled to have a pre-trial hearing on 11/12/25. The Sherburne County District Judge, Tim Walz appointee Judge Kristi D. Stanislawski, should take immediate action to dismiss the case and apologize to Anderson for the government falsely weaponizing the law against him.

Constitutionalists must stay vigilant as Democrats are seeing this as a renewed push for gun control. Two leftist Judges on the MN Supreme Court were bending the law in their dissenting Opinions, showing how two members of our state’s highest courts would criminalize gun ownership.

Senate Democrat Ron Latz (SD46) has begun telling the media that the Supreme Court ruling was a mistake and that he will be fighting to change the law. With the state House likely to return to a 67-67 tie following the special election, Republicans must hold strong and refuse to pass ANY gun control. While GOP Rep. Paul Novotny (30B) said criminalizing “otherwise law-abiding gun owners is a non-starter”, he did not outright say that he would fight against any gun control and said he expects this topic to be discussed in the upcoming legislative session.

Action 4 Liberty will never waver on Constitutional principles and will defend Patriots’ 2nd Amendment Right to bear arms. The protection of our God-given liberties cannot be sacrificed. We will continue to champion our mission to protect liberty for the next generation and celebrate the Supreme Court victory!

MN Young RINOs Co-Sign Manipulated Election with Super-Delegates

Like many political conventions, corruption and vote manipulation took place at the National Young Republicans (YR) convention, which is held to conduct the business of the organization. Notably, this YR national convention centered around the Chairman election.

The Chair election included two candidates with incumbent RINO Hayden Padgett leading the “Grow YR” slate and America First challenger Peter Giunta leading the “Restore YR” slate (who had 1977 to 1979 National YR chair Roger Stone’s endorsement). This race served as a microcosm of the current intra-party battles within the GOP. The National YR leadership had even selected neocon Nikki Haley as their preferred choice for President in November 2023 and Meatball Ron previously that year. While many young conservatives are rebellious and like to challenge the status quo, the Globalist RINO Tom Emmer loving MN Young RINOs voted for the Establishment slate of candidates amidst major corruption.

The National YR convention featured the Chair Hayden Padgett threatening to kick out pro-Trump delegates, the use of super-delegates positions like the DNC given to board members who serve with incumbent Hayden Padgett, so-called “state surveys” were used that manipulated delegate counts to hurt swing states, and delegates were blocked from being seated/had credentials pulled from delegates. Many online speculated that the election was rigged. Despite the obvious happening in their faces, the MN delegation voted for the Establishment incumbent slate. The RINO slate even passed around a bingo card mocking ideas like rooting out corruption, audits, and election integrity. See a map of how state YR delegations voted below, blue states voted for the Establishment slate and red states voted for the MAGA slate:

See the MN Young RINOs at the convention proudly proclaiming their allegiance to the corrupt RINO slate of candidates below:

Beyond being a Tom Emmer RINO social club to groom future RINOs, it led by a gay Nikki Haley & David Hann backer named Jacob Ringstand. The MN YRs are a party affiliate that are granted certain privileges like delegate and alternate positions at State conventions, Congressional district endorsing conventions, and State Central. This organization has become a breeding ground for young Republicans to get to rub elbows with politicians and become ingratiated into the social club RINO Swamp. While one might think this organization is simply a group of 20-somethings, it allows individuals up to the age of 40 to be members. See some of the members below including Neocon Nikki lover Jacob Ringstad & Mason Epeneter, Emmer puppet Joe Teirab, RNC Committeeman/woman A.K. Kamara and Emily Novotny Chance, former RINO David Hann MNGOP Exec. Dir. Anna Mathews, and others desperate to climb the RINO ladder:

The MNGOP should think twice before giving affiliate status and delegate positions to a group willing to look the other way on corruption. In part, the 12 MNGOP affiliates that exist represent the diversity, identity politics that conservatives seek to eliminate. It is likely true that the 12 MNGOP affiliates are largely serving Establishment interests because these groups must keep those in charge happy to keep their affiliate status.

Corruption at all levels must be rooted out and the MN Young RINOs are misrepresenting the voices of young conservatives across Minnesota who would never co-sign corruption, super-delegates, manipulated delegate counts, and kicking Trump supporters out of the convention. RINO leadership in place stifles participation from real America First young conservatives (evidenced by the MN YR "Get Involved" webpage that has 1 sign up in at least a year). Action 4 Liberty will continue leading the charge for grassroots MN conservatives and call out corruption in all elements of our state’s politics.

RINO Kip Christianson Defeated at Senate Endorsing Convention

After losing the MNGOP Deputy Chair race, RINO Kip Christianson tried to fail upward and receive the GOP endorsement for SD29 Senator as a consolation prize. However, SD29 Republican delegates instead chose small business owner Michael Holmstrom to succeed deceased Senator Bruce Anderson. As seen in our previous reporting breaking this race down, this race is in a deep red Senate district that Anderson won with 68% of the vote in 2022.

Sources tell A4L that there were 116 delegates, all candidates agreed to abide by the endorsement, and that the convention took three rounds of balloting to reach an endorsement where Mike Holmstrom led the vote on each ballot. Additionally, Melinda Mihajlov did not seek the GOP endorsement despite being listed on the Wright Co. GOP website. Reportedly, The Establishment tried to rally behind Kip with Jason Franzen and Tina Diedrick endorsing Kip following the second round of voting but Holmstrom maintained the lead and finished with 61% in the third and final round.

A4L was told that Establishment Rep. Walter Hudson (30A) was at the convention and did not speak on Kip’s behalf to the convention despite loving the sound of his own voice and calling Kip his “brother in arms through political trench warfare” on social media. Hudson speaking on behalf of RINOs didn't work at the State Central where David Hann was canned and Kip was also defeated and it didn't work for Hudson when supporting RINO Ron Kresha at the HD10A endorsing convention, however, Hudson not speaking doesn't seem to help the RINOs either!

It comes as no surprise that Kip was unable to win with delegates in a deep red district considering his record of fooling a blind, wheelchair-bound veteran onto the ballot for Congress under a Marijuana political party, was labeled a “political stalker” while working RINO funded Jobs Coalition, partnering with RINO David Hann to control the MNGOP, fighting to remove pro-life items from the MNGOP and RNC platforms, and much more including him revealing the former Democrat, ultra-liberal Speaker of the House a “mentor” following her tragic assassination (a secret relationship he likely wouldn’t reveal otherwise). His campaign website, which may have been a total waste of time and money on his part, included a picture of himself and Globalist RINO Tom Emmer, showing who his true loyalties are to. Many see Kip as an untrustworthy political operative, not the type of leader required to be a Senator.

With the GOP endorsement, Holmstrom receives full support from the party to support his candidacy in the primary election. In recent history, the majority of GOP endorsed candidates win the primary. Attendees tell A4L that Holmstrom had a video package narrated by radio show host Joe Pags and that his campaign was put together very quickly. Despite Mike Holmstrom previously interning for RINO Marion Rarick (29B) according to his social media, sources tell A4L that she supported Kip over Mike at the convention.

It remains to be seen if Kip and other candidates who lost the endorsement battle will live up to their word and concede the race. Kip was never filed to begin with and Jason Franzen has withdrawn his filing (confirmed with SOS office). Candidates have until Aug. 6th (today) at 5PM to file for office and the withdrawal deadline is Aug. 7th (tomorrow) at 5PM. According to the filing page on the Sec. of State’s website as of writing this article, GOP endorsed Michael Holmstrom is joined by Bradley Kurtz (who filed after endorsing convention), Rachel Davis, Tina Diedrick, and Melinda Mihajlov as Republican opponents and one Democrat opponent in Louis McNutt. It is unclear which GOP candidates will remain in the race and if any more will jump in. [NOTE: Since the 5PM deadline only Kurtz, Davis, and Holmstrom remain filed according to the SOS webpage]

Additionally, the 34B and SD47 special elections are also on our radar with the GOP’s Ruth Bittner running in the 34B race against one of three Democrats in a generally blue district. SD47 is vacant due to Nicole Mitchell FINALLY resigning from the Senate after a unanimous jury conviction of burglarizing her widowed stepmother. No evidence can be found if Democrats are holding an endorsing convention between state Reps Amanda Hemmingsen-Jaeger (47A) and Ethan Cha (47B). The GOP has endorsed Dwight Dorau, who previously campaigned for office as “Not A Burglar” to mock and draw attention to then-Senator Nicole Mitchell.

As things stand, the MN House currently sit with a one person GOP majority (67-66, following Hortman’s tragic assassination) and the Senate sits with a one person Democrat majority (33-32, with SD29 and SD47 vacant).

Action 4 Liberty will continue to inform the grassroots about what is happening in our state and hold firm to our principles of limited government. Congratulations to the SD29, HD34B, and SD47 GOP party units for reaching endorsements and Action 4 Liberty looks forward to holding any new elected politicians’ feet to the fire to protect liberty for the next generation.

Islamic Center Writes Support Letter for Somali Convicted Child Rapist

Minnesota is slipping further and further into third-world territory by accepting thousands upon thousands of lowly educated Islamic refugees from failed nations like Somalia. This issue has spiraled into out of control fraud schemes and barbaric violence from Somalis in our state committing some of the worst crimes known to man that are excused by Democrats and Muslim mosques.

42 year old Somalian, Qalinle Ibrahim Dirie, was convicted to a 12 year prison sentence for raping a 12-year-old girl in Minneapolis last year. 12 years is the lowest amount of prison time recommended by MN sentencing guidelines for first-degree criminal sexual assault. Dirie is currently locked up at the Minnesota Correctional Facility - Saint Cloud and it is not immediately clear if Dirie is even a citizen of the United States.

This sentencing decision was made by District Judge Michael E. Burns who was appointed to the Fourth Judicial District by Democrat Gov. Mark Dayton in 2016. According to the Star Tribune, this is seemingly what the prosecution requested for (Lead Prosecutor was Allison Elizabeth Reyerson). Burns made the decision on this case following a unanimous jury conviction. According to court records, Burns was the third Judge assigned this case. See Judge Michael Burns below:

The case number for this case is 27-CR-24-17247 and all related court documents can be found using the Minnesota Court Record search. On July 21st 2025, the court put documents into the record with people testifying on behalf of Dirie’s character. Included in these testimonies was the Al-Ihsan Islamic Center with a “Community Support Letter for Qalinle Dirie”. See full letter below:

As seen above, the Muslim mosque is praising Qalinle Dirie as a family-man father that faced “the challenge of starting over in a new culture”, alleges that Dirie has “never been involved in conflict” in the years they knew him, and suggests that he has made a “positive difference”. As many know, Islamic teachings tell their followers that deception is not only permitted, but obligatory in some cases. The Al-Ihsan Islamic Center is advocating for a Judge to go soft on a child rapist because he is a Somali Muslim in their community. As mentioned previously, Judge Burns gave Dirie the lightest recommended sentence and MN law allows Dirie to be released in 2033.

Crooked MN politicians and judges have fallen victim to a radical Muslim contingency that demands they face no responsibility for repercussions for their actions. The influx of Somalis and other Muslims has led to Islamic mosques advocating for child rapists, if now is not a drawing line in the sand, nothing else will be. In the case of Qalinle Dirie, we see yet another example of violence from a group of Muslim immigrants who cannot and will not assimilate themselves into American culture.

Deep Red Senate District Special Election Breakdown

Minnesota Republican state Senator, Bruce Anderson, unexpectedly passed away on July 21st, prompting a special election in SD29. This district is deep red that Anderson won 68% of the vote for in 2022 while maintaining a conservative voting record and being a respectful conservative.

According to the Wright County GOP website, five candidates will be seeking the GOP endorsement taking place tomorrow, Tuesday, August 5th. The five GOP candidates include failed MNGOP deputy chair candidate Kip Christianson, Wright County Commissioner Tina Diedrick, Delano city councilman Jason Franzen, business owner Michael Holmstrom, and Marine Corps veteran Melinda Mihajlov

RINO Kip Christianson is a Monticello city councilman and shady political operative who lost against Donna Bergstrom in the race for Deputy Chair of the MNGOP while running in a so-called “unity ticket” with RINO David Hann. In 2020, Kip fooled a blind, wheelchair-bound veteran into getting on the ballot for Congress under a Marijuana-related political third party while being paid by the RNC and was labeled a “political stalker” while being paid by the RINO funded, anti-grassroots MN Jobs Coalition. Kip worked to change the MNGOP platform and the RNC platform to abolish pro-life language, something his district would not approve of. The idea of Kip being elevated to Senator with his stained record (including a DWI) should make him unqualified to conservatives for an office so critical.

Kip also credited David Hann and Globalist RINO Tom Emmer on the Jack Tomczack podcast for getting the MNGOP out of debt when it was truly President Trump speaking at the Lincoln-Reagan Dinner since the grassroots refused to support the party under Hann. This is in part due to the 1972-10 Wyoming company that received tens of thousands of dollars that A4L exposed was run by Kamala supporter Michael Brodkorb, who Kip also has a relationship with. Another strange relationship with liberals that Kip has was with Melissa Hortman, who Kip revealed was a friend and mentor to him following her and her husband's high-profile assassinations. Putting Hortman’s horrific death aside, why would an ultra-liberal Democrat Speaker of the House want to “mentor” Kip and what political advice will he follow? Many Republicans may wonder how close Kip is to others in the Democrat Establishment that he is keeping secret.

Establishment puppet Walter Hudson inserted himself into this race by calling Kip his “brother in arms through political trench warfare” and verbally slapped the hand of candidate Melinda Mihajlov for demanding the GOP endorsed candidate for the Senate be a “STRONG Constitutional conservative”. Mihajlov is a Marine Corps veteran and appears to be a standard line conservative but unfortunately looks up to RINOs like Patricia Mueller (23B) passing unconstitutional omnibus bills and may not rock the boat if elected. Interestingly, Melinda Mihajlov has been endorsed by Gonzalo Duran, the Conservative party & Republican nominee for New York City Public Advocate.

Another candidate for Senate, Michael Holmstrom, is a small business owner according to his campaign website and unsuccessfully ran for school board in 2024. Holmstrom is also the Deputy Chair of the Wright County GOP. Many conservatives may hesitate to support Holmstrom due to him being supported by social media addict RINO Dustin Grage, others in the district say not to hold that against him. Holmstrom also lost a County Commissioner race in 2022 which was ultimately won by another Senate candidate, Tina Diedrick.

If voters are looking for an anti-Emmer conservative, they likely won’t find it in Wright County Commissioner Tina Diedrick who poses with RINOs like him and Jim Nash for social media. Locals tell A4L that Establishment Republicans and Democrats supported Diedrick’s run for County Commissioner (since the primary and race is nonpartisan). She is additionally the former mayor of Norwood Young America and is clearly well-versed in government by serving on numerous committees and projects. While Diedrick certainly appears to be a hard worker and very involved in her community, she does not appear to be a hardcore conservative willing to buck party leadership.

The final candidate seeking the GOP endorsement is Delano city councilman Jason Franzen who is also the Wright Co. GOP Treasurer. From what can be gathered from his social media, he appears to be a standard Republican but he unfortunately shares HRCC and other Establishment material. Franzen, like all other candidates mentioned, will have the chance to make his case to the SD29 delegates at the convention.

In addition to the five mentioned candidates, Rachel Davis has filed for office but is not listed as a participant for the endorsement. Reportedly, the Wright Co. GOP alleges that Davis has not lived in the district for at least 6 months which Davis denies. Nora Greteman had a website for a Senate candidacy but the content has since been removed aside from a title saying “Coming Soon” and her campaign logo. The social media accounts linked on the website no longer go to pages so Greteman may have chosen not to run or to run in a primary (as it appears Davis will do and Mihajlov alluded to on X). Additionally, Greteman is the Wright Co. GOP event coordinator, which may have been seen as a conflict of interest if she organized the convention as a candidate.

One Democrat, Louis McNutt, has filed to run for the SD29 special election. Considering Republican Bruce Anderson received 68% of the vote in 2022, any hope for Democrats would be a longshot.

Candidates and politics aside, there are serious issues with the process of the SD29 special election.

On July 29th, Tim Walz filed a writ of election for SD29 alongside another writ of election for SD47 following Nicole Mitchell FINALLY resigning from the Senate after her jury conviction for burglarizing her widowed-stepmother. Tim Walz scheduled primary election dates of Aug. 26th and a withdrawal deadline of Aug. 7th, giving voters very little time to vet candidates. The general election will take place on Nov. 4th. As A4L has exposed, Walz has a history of breaking special election laws to try to benefit Dems (which was even struck down by the liberal MN Supreme Court). With the timeline and leniency Walz has in scheduling elections while the legislature is not in session, he easily could have scheduled a primary in September or October to give voters more time to vet candidates in their unexpected vacancy.

In addition, the Wright County GOP perhaps should have followed the routes that Cass, Crow Wing, and Itasca counties did in the SD6 special election by not holding an endorsing convention and allowing candidates to fight it out in a primary. By holding an endorsement on an unexpected short time notice, many delegates may be unable to attend and the process becomes rushed. Small portions of Hennepin and Meeker counties are also in SD29 and sources tell A4L that all delegates from these areas may not have received their required convention call. Of course, the endorsing convention could end with no endorsement resulting in a crowded primary, especially considering it begins at 6PM on a Tuesday night with five candidates. If run corruptly, there will almost certainly be a primary following it.

With the GOP endorsing convention taking place tomorrow (Aug. 5th), we will keep Patriots informed on this race as well as the SD47 special election. We will continue to lead the conservative movement by putting truth and liberty first and be unwavering in our Constitutional, small-government principles.

Anti-Freedom Star Tribune Pushes for Criminalization of ‘First Amendment Auditing’

Whenever free speech becomes regulated, blocked, or criminalized, you no longer have free speech. Unfortunately and unsurprisingly, the leftist newspaper Star Tribune is pushing for the criminalization of First Amendment auditing. While one might think that the longest-running newspaper in Minnesota might know something about the ‘Right to Free Press’, they clearly need a Constitutional lesson.

First Amendment text: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

First Amendment auditing is essentially an individual who films themselves and/or others in government buildings or other public areas. This activity has become popularized on YouTube and other social media and is an umbrella term that could be citizen journalists looking for answers, individuals looking to provoke an arrest to file a lawsuit calling the arrest unjustified, individuals looking to provoke the public/police to the limit of threat of arrest, satirized auditing, and sovereign citizens. On one hand it can expose a power-hungry, nit-picky government official but on the other hand, it is putting random people in an uncomfortable position for no reason other than getting their reaction. Some channels, like Long Island Audit, do great videos reminding officers and other government employees that the public has a right to audit them with a camera on property owned by taxpayers. Of course bad apples exist too which busy-bodies use as examples to justify why anti-free speech laws are necessary.

As to be expected, many people do not want to be filmed in public and have negative reactions to it. Filming someone without permission, regardless of being on private or public property, feels like an invasion of privacy to some and often the longer it goes on, the angrier the person being filmed gets. To make matters more frustrating, sometimes the filmers/auditors will choose to be masked to remain semi-anonymous and act extremely inconsiderate to trigger people for social media content.

In this case, Karen Tolkkinen from the Star Tribune wrote an article discussing a recent First Amendment audit video that took place in Albert Lea, MN and suggests people who do this be fined or arrested. The individual wore a mask to conceal his identity as he filmed a row of businesses hosting a community sale and would not speak when people approached him to ask why he was filming them. Long story short, he was attempting to provoke people and get them angry by silently filming them so the cops come and say he is allowed to film.

When the individual would speak, it would be things like “You have no expectation of privacy in public” and was clearly freaking some people out with his behavior.

All of this kept in mind, rude or unwanted filming in public is protected under the First Amendment. It would be a massive mistake to give a bloated government more power to police speech, public recordings/press, or other activities protected under the First Amendment. Minnesota already has a hate speech/hate crime database and Democrats like Tim Walz look to censor their opponents by applying labels like “disinformation” or “conspiracy theory” or “hate speech” on speech that is politically inconvenient or is actually true.

Speech you don’t like is free speech. Speech the Star Tribune doesn’t like is free speech. Speech that is hateful is free speech. Speech only becomes criminal (or punishable on civil penalties) when it incites violence or mass panic, is defamatory, or is harassing.

The Star Tribune should know better than to push a policy objective that undermines our Bill of Rights and the Right to free speech and free press. Keep in mind, the liberal media warned President Trump was going to lock up journalists. Now, they want to criminalize certain forms of free press. Unfortunately, major corporate media like the Star Tribune completely conformed to the left and far from neutral and unbiased. The Star Tribune also knows that their access to politicians and government buildings will never be challenged like other regular citizens.

Unintended consequences of criminalizing individuals filming events in public would erode our Constitution and could be used selectively by those in power. While the creator of the YouTube video serves as a poor example of wielding free speech, it is none-the-less protected. Arbitrary judgments cannot determine how society is governed.

And of course, the creator of the YouTube video is going to have a hay-day with the fact that a woman named Karen is writing about him in the Star Tribune about his video titled “Recording Karens On The Sidewalk”. Karen also ridiculously suggests that people carry “collapsible privacy sheets” to block their face and even says it should read “Go play in traffic” (suggesting Karen wants First Amendment auditors to die). If Karen is to be commended for anything in her article it is her shaming of the filmer wearing a mask, it's about time the Star Tribune takes a stand against masks!

While the Star Tribune will continue to pretend to be neutral while subliminally or openly pushing the leftist agenda, keep in mind that the Star Tribune is run by billionaire Glen Taylor who previously was the Republican Minority Leader in the state Senate. The corruption in our state will never be fully exposed by the Star Tribune because they are controlled by the Uniparty.

Unlike the Star and Sickle, Action 4 Liberty lays out our biases upfront. We want a limited government that adheres to its basic Constitutional obligations and our mission is to protect liberty for the next generation. We understand that it is not just the speech that we like that needs protecting, it is also the speech we don’t like. With this in mind, Karen and the Star Tribune have every right to debate this idea but the government has zero right to implement it. A4L will continue to lead and stand shoulder to shoulder with the grassroots conservative movement to preserve freedom in Minnesota.

31 RINO State Legislators Funded the Fraud Uncovered by Federal Prosecutors

Minnesota has become a fraud ridden Socialist state totalling $1 Billion according to federal prosecutors. While Tim Walz and Keith Ellison have administered and oversaw the massive fraud, RINOs helped Democrats in the state legislature to fund this very fraud!

As seen in previous A4L reporting, acting U.S. Attorney for Minnesota, Joe Thompson, told KSTP in an interview that when investigations are prosecuted and finished, the amount of fraud in MN government programs could exceed $1 Billion. Notably, Thompson said 1 in 5 autism centers are under investigation and the Housing Stabilization Services providers were mostly fraudulent. See interview here.

Housing Stabilization Services are funded through the MN Dept. of Human Services through a Medicaid Medical Assistance program, separate from Medical Assistance abortion funding contained in the Health Omnibus bill. The Housing Stabilization Services funding was most recently passed through the 316 page Human Services spending omnibus bill during the 2025 special session (HF3). DHS data says Housing Stabilization Services received over $107 Million in 2024.

As mentioned earlier, many RINOs worked with Democrats to get this fraud funding across the finish line! HF3 was passed by a vote of 35-32 in the Senate with only RINO Jim Abeler (SD35) voting with the Democrats. In the House, 30 RINOs partnered with Democrats to pass an unconstitutional omnibus bill containing funding for fraud ridden government programs. No Democrat voted against the bill on the floor and one Democrat Rep., Peter Fischer (44A), did not take a vote. This bill was authored by two Democrats and RINO Joe Schomacker (21A). This legislation contributed to the 2nd largest budget in MN history and the majority of GOP Reps voted no on this bill, proving Demuth made a bad, corrupt backroom deal with Walz and legislative Dems for the special session. See House vote below:

As seen above, here are the 30 RINO Reps voted for the Housing fraud that was recently uncovered: Dave Baker (16B), Matt Bliss (2B), Greg Davids (26B), Lisa Demuth (13A), Jeff Dotseth (11A), Bidal Duran (2A), Mary Franson (12B), Steve Gander (1B), Dawn Gillman (17A), Josh Heintzeman (6B), Walter Hudson (30A), Spencer Igo (7A), Wayne Johnson (41A), Andrew Myers (45A), Danny Nadeau (34A), Jim Nash (48A), Harry Niska (31B), Tim O’Driscoll (13B), Bernie Perryman (14A), Marion Rarick (29B), Aaron Repinski (26A), Joe Schomacker (21A), Erica Schwartz (18A), Peggy Scott (31B), Tom Sexton (19B), Roger Skraba (3A), Paul Torkelson (15B), Cal Warwas (7B), Jeff Witte (57B), and Natalie Zeleznikar (3B).

Keep in mind, this fraud was not uncovered by the Republican-controlled House Fraud Committee, it was exposed by federal prosecutors and the media! In fact, only 3 out of 8 of the Fraud Committee members voted against this bill! This means that the majority of the fraud committee (Pinto, Elkins, Greenman, Hudson, and Rarick) voted to fund fraud with your tax dollars! And these are the clowns that are supposed to be stopping the fraud?!?

Since this fraud has been exposed, Tampon Tim froze payment to the Housing Stabilization Services. Walz’ time as MN Governor will forever be remembered for the non-stop fraud that he has funded and oversaw. The same can be said for radical leftist Attorney General Keith Ellison. From the Feeding Our Future fraud to this, Walz has faced zero responsibility for destroying our state and covering up fraud. When Congress called Walz in to testify, he gave a $430K bill to taxpayers for his lawyers to help him cover up his failed Administration.

Beyond Walz and Ellison, the Housing Stabilization Services fraud is thanks to Democrats and spineless RINOs who voted for the unconstitutional Human Services omnibus bill. A bloated, far-reaching government will always be unmanageable and lead to fraud. If Republicans truly want to stop fraud, they must stop passing omnibus bills that are hundreds to thousands of pages long that hide policy and funding for radical left causes or programs that do not have proper oversight and fraud prevention.

Action 4 Liberty will continue leading the MN conservative grassroots movement by holding firm to conservative, Constitutional principles. We will never waiver in our mission to protect liberty for the next generation. The Uniparty is responsible for the out-of-control government of our state and the Uniparty will never fix itself. A4L will continue exposing the rampant corruption across Minnesota politics.

Corrupt HRCC Pay-To-Play Leadership Scheme

In order to maintain the corrupt St. Paul Swamp, the RINO Establishment protects itself with the House Republican Campaign Committee (HRCC) as a tool to sabotage grassroots conservative candidates and support unendorsed RINO career politician incumbents. A4L now learns that the HRCC is demanding $25K in order to be a part of leadership.

The HRCC is a party unit of the MNGOP, despite previous denial and eventual admittance on this topic by Establishment Rep. Walter Hudson (30A). As a party unit, the HRCC is obligated to abide by the endorsements of Republican party units on all races, most notably, the state House races. Article IV, Section 8 of the MNGOP bylaws states “No Party Officer shall use their official position to promote pre-primary endorsement support or induce the candidacy of any individual by assuring Party support prior to any endorsement by the convention which is representative of the entire electorate for the office.

To provide further evidence of the HRCC existing as a party unit of the MNGOP, look no further than the category the HRCC belongs to in Campaign Finance Board (CFB) reporting because they are under the category called party unit! This means they must abide by MNGOP bylaws and the party’s endorsements. The HRCC’s desperate desire to work outside of MNGOP endorsements, especially in deep red districts for RINO incumbents, proves they are working against the interests of Republican voters.

So who are the party officers of the HRCC? Are they elected by the GOP Representatives? Do they have a Constitution or bylaws governing their actions?

The party officers of the HRCC would likely include its Chair Lisa Demuth (13A), the Treasurer Paul Torkelson (15B), and steering committee members who A4L is told includes Harry Niska (31A) and Josh Heintzeman (6B). A4L is also told that these ‘leaders’ were not elected. On episodes of the Truth Hurts, both Rep. Walter Hudson (30A) and Rep. Mike Weiner (5B) said they had never seen HRCC bylaws and were unsure how HRCC leadership was decided.

A4L has been told that a meeting was held this month led by Speaker Lisa Demuth with GOP Representatives concerning HRCC issues raised by members (including that there are no bylaws or a Constitution governing the HRCC and some desire to make the HRCC focus only on general elections) at a hotel down the road from A4L Headquarters. A4L is told that Demuth required GOP Reps pay $10K in 2025 and $15K in 2026 ($25K in total), volunteer at 15 HRCC events, and then put in an application subject to approval by the HRCC in order to be on the steering committee! A4L was informed that 4 Representatives have put in applications. So even if a Rep. fork over the money, the RINOs running the HRCC can deny them!

This is a corrupt pay-to-play scheme that requires big donations to a group working against the interests of Republican endorsed candidates. Do we want a system where $25K to a corrupt party unit buys politicians more power?

Ironically, Josh Heintzeman and Harry Niska did not pay $25K in 2023 and 2024 according to CFB reports which means they do not meet the requirements to serve in the HRCC if the $25K requirement is truly a rule. In 2023-2024, Niska gave $15,300 and Heintzeman gave $20,200. Demuth and Torkelson surpassed $25K in donations from 2023-2024. According to the June 2025 HRCC CFB report, Demuth has given $5K, Heintzeman has given $2,500, and Niska and Torkelson have given nothing. This means all 4 of the mentioned Reps do not meet their own requirements to run the HRCC unless they’ve donated big money since the June report which covers 2025 up to May 31.

As mentioned earlier, there is no Constitution or bylaws for the HRCC and A4L is told there was debate about giving the HRCC bylaws and requiring that the HRCC abides by GOP endorsements. Reportedly, RINO Ron Kresha (10A) argued that bylaws would handcuff the HRCC and cause the GOP to lose, even going as far as to say that that certain members aren't ready for the Majority in the House. Harry Niska also reportedly opposed bylaws and defended the HRCC protecting unendorsed RINO incumbents by saying “We can’t leave a soldier behind.” This means that the HRCC does not care who conservative Republican delegates endorse at state House endorsing conventions, the HRCC will back the Establishment incumbents no matter what We the People say.

The HRCC has gone out of its way to work against the endorsement process and are only seeking to protect unendorsed incumbents to maintain the corrupt status quo. In deep red districts, the HRCC protected RINO Ron Kresha against Aikin County farmer Diane Webb Skillings, RINO Brian Johnson against then-challenger now-incumbent Jimmy Gordon (28A), and RINO Greg Davids (26B) against conservative challenger Gary Steuart. Despite mass mailers and other HRCC spending, Skillings was only 35 votes behind Kresha (closest primary election in MN for 2024), Jimmy Gordon won his primary by 32%, and Gary Steuart got over 47% of the vote against Greg Davids (who Walz recently said should be an example that Trump and other DC Republicans should act more like). When Walz praises big government RINOs like Davids, Demuth, Torkelson for passing the 2nd largest budget in MN history while the HRCC does too, you realize the Uniparty is in full effect.

MNGOP leadership should take immediate action to reclaim this swampy legislative party unit. Until that is done, the MNGOP and GOP Reps must quit funding the HRCC. The MNGOP has given the HRCC $135K from 2023-2025 and has shielded this party unit from abiding by endorsements.

The HRCC must be dissolved as the legitimate House GOP party unit since it will not exclusively support candidates endorsed by the MNGOP. The HRCC must then be replaced with a legislative party unit that agrees to abide by party endorsements and uses funds for the sole purpose of electing Republican candidates in state House swing district general elections. In addition, the pay-to-play scheme must end and the House GOP caucus members must be able to elect their own leadership.

The following incumbent Reps have given money to the HRCC in 2025, 2024, and 2023 according to CFB reports. If you donated to any of these candidates, your dollars may have been spent protecting unendorsed career politicians RINOs in red district primaries. See below:

Action 4 Liberty will continue leading MN’s grassroots conservative movement by exposing the corruption of our state’s government and politics. Protecting liberty for the next generation requires uprooting institutions of corruption and that is exactly what A4L will continue doing.

Minnesota Government Fraud To Cost Taxpayers Over $1 Billion

Habitual liar Tim Walz often warns of the dangers of billionaires but seemingly has no problem with fraud under the most powerful billionaire in our state, the Minnesota state government. The billionaire that you have to fear more than any other is not a single person, it is the government itself.

Acting U.S. Attorney for Minnesota, Joe Thompson, told KSTP in an interview that when investigations are prosecuted and finished, the amount of fraud in MN government programs could exceed $1 Billion, reaching historic levels of wasted tax dollars. He additionally stated that 1 in 5 autism centers are currently under investigation with Medicaid and housing stabilization funding claims that were mostly fraudulent. See interview here or click below.

This news piles onto the mountain of failures by Tim Walz and Keith Ellison to stop fraud in their elected capacities. If any organization outside of government oversaw this level of fraud and disrespect to taxpayer dollars, the organization would be shut down or at the very least, be severely reformed.

Instead, RINO politicians chose to partner with Tim Walz to cut backroom deals to pass the 2nd largest budget in Minnesota history, which will fund ongoing and future fraud. The issue of corruption in government cannot be stopped with spineless RINOs selling out to Democrats, it must be rooted out in its entirety. Recently, Tim Walz said that he wishes Trump and Republicans in Congress would work with Democrats like MN RINOs Speaker Lisa Demuth (13A), Paul Torkelson (15B), Greg Davids (26B), and Sen. Min. Ldr. Mark Johnson (SD1) did in the big government budget deal! Those Republicans helped fund future MN fraud!

As should be noted, this is one of many times that the media and federal DOJ officials have discovered and publicized fraud while the Republican controlled state House Fraud Committee accomplishes more in political theater than uncovering fraud that is not yet publicly available.

As an example, the Fraud Committee is refusing to act on accusations raised by constituents that RINO Rep. Ron Kresha (10A) committed PPP loan fraud to collect hundreds of thousands of dollars of tax money for his business by falsely labeling his business' associated independent contractors as employees. In Kresha's statement since our reporting (after refusing to respond for comment on the story), he did not address the key claim raised by constituents. All related documents to these claims were given to Rep. Isaac Schultz (10B) and the claims have been refuted by Rep. Walter Hudson (30A) on X by praising Kresha and denying with no substantive argument. (both Schultz and Hudson sit on the Fraud Committee). Additionally on the Fraud Committee are Republicans Kristin Robbins (37A) (said to be eyeing Governor campaign) Patti Anderson (33A), and Marion Rarick (29B) (who may be eyeing a Senate run in a special election despite her husband Jason Rarick representing a totally different Senate district hours away). Democrats on the committee include Dave Pinto (64B), Steve Elkin (50B), and Emma Greenman (63B).

Republicans looking the other way on potential fraud committed by members of their party is no different on the Democrat side. Tim Walz and Keith Ellison’s political futures hang in the balance as they hope to undermine what may become over $1B in tax dollars of known, prosecutable fraud. It is yet to be seen if Keith Ellison will run for reelection for Attorney General in 2026 and Tim Walz says he will decide on Governor reelection following the State Fair. Notably, Action 4 Liberty has held ULTRA-popular booths calling out Walz’ corrupt agenda! See below:

A4L will remain consistent in our fight to protect liberty for the next generation. In order to do that, we must root out the corruption of our government and shrink its size and scope. A4L will continue leading in this fight and will be the megaphone for the conservative grassroots movement.

Fmr. U.S. Rep. RINO John Kline Endorses Pratt for CD2 Race

Former Minnesota Congressman, RINO John Kline, officially endorsed another RINO, state Senator Eric Pratt (SD54), for the open Congress seat in CD2. See below:

Kline became a career politician who used his time in Congress to grow government, support amnesty for illegal aliens, cut deals with Barack Obama & John Boehner, vote with Dems to spend $2B on failed ‘cash for clunkers’ program, vote to raise the national debt, vote for warrantless NSA mass surveillance, and voted for corporate welfare like the $700B Wall Street Bailout and increasing the U.S. Export-Import Bank’s lending cap from $100B to $140B (allowing increases to the national debt under Obama). On many of these votes and more, Kline voted the same as radical leftists like Tim Walz and Keith Ellison.

Longtime Republican activists tell A4L that a conservative activist was gathering signatures from delegates at a CD2 convention on documents demanding John Kline vote more conservative and when Kline was presented with this paper, he threw the stack of papers in the trash (containing the signatures of delegates) before walking on stage.

Is this the kind of person that RINO Eric Pratt wants supporting him? Is that what CD2 Republicans want to return to?

Eric Pratt has his own big government, anti-liberty record as state Senator. This includes voting for a pro-transgender/boys in girls locker rooms “Equal Rights” Amendment, a bill that outlaws discrimination on the basis of hair, bailing out Minneapolis, firing non-union oil refinery workers, criminalizing the creation/sharing of AI memes of politicians, and all kinds of other unconstitutional omnibus bills.

The CD2 GOP contest will be another test for the liberty grassroots base in this district that has become increasingly powerful in the inner-party leadership battles and endorsements. Running against Eric Pratt is U.S. Marine Corp Reserve officer Tyler Kistner.

During the 2012 Ron Paul Revolution 2014, and 2016 election cycles, tea party conservative David Gerson challenged John Kline and reinvigorated the liberty base in CD2. When Kline decided not to seek reelection in 2016, conservative radio broadcaster Jason Lewis defeated Kline’s hand-picked replacement, Darlene Miller. In 2020 and 2022, Tyler Kistner defeated other challengers with the support of the grassroots base and kept narrow margins in the general election losses to incumbent Angie Craig. In 2024, CD2 conservative delegates endorsed Tayler Rahm in a landslide and Tom Emmer puppet Joe Teirab refused to withdraw despite previous pledges to abide by the endorsement. Emmer then weaponized the Trump campaign to get Rahm to quit the race and abandon his supporters, leaving the district with only one Republican with an active campaign. Despite becoming the nominee, the CD2 GOP refused to endorse Teirab and he went on to give Democrats their biggest margin of victory (13.4%) in the Congressional District since 1998.

With all of the history in mind, the majority CD2 GOP delegates and activists do not appear to be desiring a spineless “moderate” who capitulates to the left. It is also worth noting that the NRSC Exec. Director said that candidates cannot be installed without the support of the grassroots. After witnessing Globalist RINO Tom Emmer fail in his quest to install Teirab, the NRSC advice may guide the thinking of many delegates. As shown in recent history for CD2, a weak Republican who does not have the support of the base behind them will lose by big margins while a strong conservative gives the base something to vote for.

Midterm elections are always decided by turn-out. If conservative citizens feel their priorities won’t be represented by a RINO candidate, they will not come out to vote and the Democrats will win. If the conservative base feels represented, more voters will show up to vote. The logic behind electing liberal Republicans has collapsed as they become electoral liabilities instead of a competitive advantage.

CD2 will be a closely watched election nationally and Action 4 Liberty has remained the leading voice for grassroots conservatives in Minnesota (as the Star Tribune is becoming increasingly aware of). As seen in our previous reporting, Kistner has launched attacks against Pratt for his anti-Trump history as has Laura Loomer. A4L will continue to be the megaphone for Constitutionalist, liberty conservative movement in our state.
